CLASS TITLE:EMPLOYMENT SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE II - SES

This is professional work providing various services to individuals with vocational needs; determining interests, aptitudes and training; referring individuals to private and/or public sector; and/or marketing, coordinating and directing employment security programs on an area basis.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

- Coordinates the provision of labor exchange services to eligible persons including intake and assessment, counseling, testing, job search assistance, referral and placement.
- Upon request, assists in the acquisition of prosthetic and sensory aids and services needed to enhance the employability of eligible persons.
- Promotes and monitors the participation of federally-funded employment and training programs.
- Organizes and participates in promotional activities to promote services that are available to eligible persons; such as, Job Fairs and Career Days.
- Determines the eligibility of applicants for specialized employment and training programs.
- Maintains and develops contact with resources within community groups and local organizations engaged in providing counseling and/or rehabilitative services.
- Identifies and recommends to the immediate supervisor actions and services needed to maintain compliance with established regulations, directives and procedures.
- Researches employability trends and provides data to individuals and other agencies.
- Provides specialized professional employment security services to individuals needing more complex assistance.
- Conducts training sessions to assist staff in recognizing individuals need for counseling.
- Prepares audio tapes of employment security activities for self and supervisory review.
- Conducts self-evaluation and participates in shared evaluations for the purpose of professional development.
- Assists Customer Service Specialist in more difficult cases where further background and graduate/advanced study can be of assistance.
- Performs related work as required.
