This is marine resource work at the Florida Marine Research Institute developing research study design, preparing manuscripts, or in reviewing research study design and reports/manuscripts for verification, compliance, coordination or synthesis.

  • Designs and conducts scientific research projects so that experimental or observational data are repeatable and interpretable.
  • Analyzes and publishes data in referred journals or peer-reviewed books and proceedings.
  • Maintains biological specimens for experimentation and performs advanced physiological or systematic research.
  • Consults with and advises governmental agencies and/or analyzes or evaluates biological or marine science, oceanographic, geographic, endangered species, wildlife, or other natural resource interpretations prepared by other agencies or the private sector.
  • Coordinates research programs, contracts, or projects.
  • Serves as a scientific assistant, consultant, or technical advisor within governmental agencies utilizing specific research expertise.
  • Performs comparable office, field, laboratory work in research approach and experimental or observational design.
