Class of 2018 Newsletter
This newslettercontainspertinent and important information and will be distributed to all senor students as communication regarding upcoming events, college tips and deadlines, college application, financial aid, and scholarship. All seniors are encouraged to read this newsletter in order to ensure that you will not miss out on any important information. If you have questions regarding the provided information in this newsletter please feel free to contact Ms. Meador in the senior office, room 1401.
Reminder...Reminder...Reminder! As you receive letters from colleges and universities requesting an updated transcript, stop by the registrar office and fill out a “Transcript Request Form” and give it to Ms. Compton in room 1100A. Your transcript will be sent to the college and university of your choice. You should contact the admissions office either by email or telephone as soon as possible. And lastly, official SAT, ACT scores and financial aid information (FAFSA/TASFA)must be sent to the campuses that you have submitted an application to.Most universities require you to submit by March 1st. If you have any questions please stop by and see a counselor or talk to Mr. Zachary Lawrence, College & Career Advisor in room 1100B.
Important!!! Applying for scholarships takes work. Time has to be devoted to researching different kinds of scholarships and not all scholarships require strong GPA’s. Many scholarships require membership in service organizations or involvement in community and extracurricular activities; Some require you to have a FAFSA/TASFA on file before applying. The trick is to find a scholarship that fits you. Use Helpful Scholarship Databasessuch as Naviance which can be found on your KatyCloud to find that right scholarship for you. Please report all college acceptances and scholarship offers to your counselor and college career advisor.
