K5 Schedule

All classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Each class hour costs $500 for the school year. The two-hour Language Arts class is billed as two class hours. The following is a schedule for the K5 class options:

Books ordered through Cross Creek will be available for pick up on Parent Night. We charge a shipping and handling fee, and include it in the total book cost listed in the course descriptions. If you would like to purchase books used or through a different source, please see the attached curriculum list for information. Your student may not begin classes without the required books.

K5 Class Descriptions

Language Arts (K5) –

From the publisher (A Beka): “Each class day will begin with devotions and prayer. This class is structured as a basic phonics reading program, in which children actually read twelve small books in the set. Also included is a phonics blend and word review book for reinforcement at home by parents. Students learn and review vowel sounds, blends, one-and-two consonant words, words with special sounds, and sentence comprehension. Handwriting and Bible will be included in this course.”

Math-General (K5) –

From the publisher(A Beka): “Build students' early math skills withNumbers Skills K: Arithmetic. This full-color book reinforces number concepts through 100, simple addition and subtraction combinations, telling time, number sequences, number words, skip counting, and working with money.”

Science / Social Studies (K5) –

From the publisher (A Beka): Inspire young students to go out and explore their world as they learn how science gives glory to a Creator God. This K5 Kindergarten grade curriculum helps students explore the world around them. This curriculum focuses upon the weather, seasons, seeds, animals, and the seashore. Students will "visit" different environments, observing plants and animals from a Christian perspective.

Spanish(K5) –

Students will learn the alphabet, numbers, and simple communication. They will also learn some cultural aspects of the Spanish community and may spontaneously break out into song.
