The More Creative, the Better the Grade!!!

Be Unique and Original

Everything in civilization must be original and appropriate

The Final Exam Grade will equate to the overall grade for the Civilization Project including an individual oral presentation that will take place on the day of the objective exam. For the Honors students, periodic grades for the project will be assigned at the discretion of the Mr. Marshall

Requirements:

-Written and Creative

-No more than 3 members per group

-Oral Presentation

Written Portion MUST be:

-Typed

-12 Font

-Single Spaced

-Narrative with great detail and many specifics or bullets with great detail and many specifics.

- Everything is original

Each group will turn in a:

1. Diorama (A three dimensional representation of a scene in which objects or models is arranged in a natural setting against a realistic background. For Ex.: in a museum.)

2. Video- 5 minutes minimum 10 minutes maximum (be creative, original, fun, different, can be multiple parts) (ex. TV travel commercial, TV broadcast, Skit, War-battle, music, movie inserts, and time machine.

a. Each student in every group much appear and speak throughout the video as well as help make the assigned video.

b. Must be appropriate

1. Everyone must be covered and in appropriate clothing.

2. No props may be weapons of any kind(example guns,swords,ect.)

3. Power Point that includes your general information (see below for what is needed)-5 minutes 10 maximum slides( copy of power point needs to be included in bound copy of report/turned in materials)

a. Each student in every group must assist during the power point/oral group presentation.

4. Complete newspaper from country/civilization with articles cost, headlines, name, etc.(minimum 2 pages with 6 articles, headlines, cost ,place-like real newspaper)

5. Oral Presentation on the day of FINAL EXAM - TWO (2) MINUTES Each Individual (INDEX CARDS NEEDED)

a. Presentation must be memorized and an overview of overall civilization general report-information).

6. REQUIRED TO MAKE UP BOTH A NATIONAL ANTHANMAND A PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. To be sung before the class right after the power point presentation and not in the video. The national anthem needs some kind of music. Both can be 20 seconds long.

Creative portion must include a minimum of 4 Visual's from below:

•Create clay sculptures or art from your civilization

•Construct a 3D Landmark that represents your country such as the Statue of Liberty

•You may also come up with your own HARD visual but you must consult Mr. Marshall for his approval prior to turning in the final project. Speak with Mr. Marshall on an ongoing basis!

•Create a national anthem

•Travel Brochure

•Interview with citizen or govt. officials

•Sacred Scrolls/Texts/Documents

•Create Oracle Bones

•Create Historical Records of the Country

•Create a map of your country including boundaries, cities, and states, etc.(material not paper and extremely nice) Not computer generated.

•Traditional Games

•Bring in Foods

•Create the flag out of fancy materials and not computer generated. •Souvenirs

•Bring in countries music or examples of culture

•Postcards

•Dress Up Like Citizen

•You may also come up with your own EASY visual, but you must consult

Mr. Marshall for his approval prior to turning in the final project. Speak with Mr. Marshall on an ongoing basis!
