4 / 11/15/11 / 11/15/11 / I have a manufacturer asking me if Seattle would extend the due date again on this bid to 12/6/11. Due to the number of poles in this request, the Engineering and Design is taking quite a bit of time. / Yes.

12/6/11 @2:00 PM

We have no local supply chain that carries this type of steel, nor have we ever used this type of steel on base plates. We would propose using either A572 Grade 50 with a minimum yield of 60ksi or A572 Grade 65 with a minimum yield of 65ksi. Would either of these options be accepted as an equivalent? / Yes, A572 as proposed is acceptable.
6 / 11/16/11 / 11/17/11 / Section 1.10 A "The bidders' qualification and performance record. Bidder must demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years experience in the design and manufacture of steel transmission poles;"Pacific Steel Structures, LLC is a newer company. Everyone involved in the company from engineering all the way down to our manufacturing has more than the 5 years experience in the design and manufacturing of steel transmission poles. We started the company in 2009 and therefore really do not meet this criteria. Will this be acceptable to SCL? / No, experience is required as set forth in Specifications.
