Year 5 Residential Visit to York 2017
Following the success of previous Year 5 visits, we would like to give pupils the opportunity to participate in a 3-day residential visit to York in the New Year. The hostel where we will be based during the visit is the Safestay Hostel on Micklegate, York and the following visits and activities are planned during our stay in the city.
· A visit to York Minster with treasure hunt· The Jorvik Viking Centre & DIG
· A visit to the historic old town, Shambles and city wall walk / · An early evening Viking walk
· A visit to the National Trust property, Beningbrough Hall
· An evening visit to the cinema
Whilst this visit is not an essential part of the school curriculum, it will help develop a further understanding of some of the topics covered in Year 5 and it is great fun too! The visit will take place from 15th – 17th May 2017 and the cost of this trip will be £160 inclusive of all transport, accommodation, meals, activities, visits and insurance.
If you would like your child to participate in this trip, please complete the slip below and return it to your child’s class teacher, along with the initial deposit of £50 by Friday 18th November 2016. The balance would then be payable as follows: a 2nd payment of £50 by the 17th February 2017 and a 3rd and final payment of £60 by 28th April 2017.
