GOOD THUNDER CITY WIDE SPRING CLEAN UP SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2014 Items should be placed at resident’s curb by 7 a.m.

Mark your calendar for this date, as it is an opportunity to dispose of unwanted items at your curbside.

YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A STICKER FOR APPLIANCES AND ELECTRONICS, IN ADVANCE AT CITY HALL. PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR STICKERS BY NOON WEDNESDAY, MAY 14th.

Appliances and electronics without stickers will not be picked up.

Fees are as follows:Appliances $20, Car Tires$14, Electronics $7 (This includes TV's up to 19" and computers), Televisions 27" and up$35

The following regulations must to be followed, as the Good Thunder Police Department will be enforcing these regulations. Items may be set out one weekprior to Saturday, May17th.

Tires, clean concrete rubble, blocks, stones, bricks and recyclable metal are to be placed in separate piles from the rest of the waste

ACCEPTING DEMOLITION DEBRIS ON A LIMITED BASIS - ENTIRE BUILDINGDEMOLITION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

No hazardous waste of any kind: paint cans, oils, cleaning fluids or other liquids, batteries, leaves, brush, grass, aerosol cans, fluorescent bulbs.

Electronics – Anything with a video display device. All monitors, digital picture frames, cell phones with video etc.

Appliances – Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves residential furnaces, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, microwaves, non-plastic dishwashers, water heaters, air conditioners.

DOG OWNERS

Please be respectful of your neighbors and follow the City Pet Ordinance. Dogs must be licensed annually by February 1st. Dog tags are to be purchased at City Hall, proof of vaccination must be submitted, and a fee of $10 paid.

  • Keep your dog on a leash or under your control at all times.
  • Don’t allow your dog to habitually bark and howl.
  • Don’t allow your dog to wander onto neighboring property to do his “duty”.
  • When walking your dog “pick-up” after him, don’t leave the mess behind.
  • Obtain a dog license annually from City Hall.

Call the Good Thunder Police Dept. at 278-3031 to make a dog, to report a violation to the pet ordinance.

The Yard of the Month program is intended to inspire residents of Good Thunder totake pride in the appearance and upkeep of their yards, the exterior of their homes, and to improve the appearance of our community by promoting well-kept yards. One winner will be chosenduring the months ofMay through October. Winners will receive $25 in Good Thunder Bucks, and a $25 gift certificate sponsored by Thunder Restaurant. Winners will proudly display a “Yard of the Month” sign in their yard for the entire month. Every homeowner is invited to participate.

The city is continuing to look for volunteers for the new Thunder Valley Park Archery Range. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Police Chief, Jeffrey Marx, at 278-3031.

UTILITY RATE INCREASES

LJP Enterprises, Inc. and Minnesota Waste Processing Company informed the city that the refuse hauling rate, and the recycling rate, would be increased for the City of Good Thunder in accordance with the Consumer Price Index for Urban Workers. This rate will be reflected on the April 2014 utility billing. The refuse rate will increase 30¢ per quarter and the recycling rate will increase 24¢ per quarter. Sales tax will reflect accordingly.
