Dear DPS Principals:
I just wanted to remind you of the Mile High Teachers recognition ceremony/reception on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Invesco Field at Mile High, East Club Lounge, 1701 Bryant Street, Enter at Gate 7. Free parking is available in lots A & B.
Your Mile High Teacher(s) should have already received an invitation to the event directly from the Mayor’s Office. We would like you to attend the ceremony to present your Mile High Teachers. If you cannot attend, please send a representative.
The awards presentation will be somewhat similar to the way students are recognized at the Mile High Scholars program. Please keep your presentation short by saying “I’m principal (name) from (school name), and I am proud to present (name) as our Mile High Teacher…”
There will not be assigned seating, so please make sure to coordinate with your teacher(s). Schools will be called in alphabetical order. Seating is limited, so we ask that teachers only bring two guests.
We want this to be a fun and relaxing event for teachers. After the awards presentation, we will have a special guest presentation by the comedy group Chicken Lips, followed by a short reception with appetizers and a cash bar.
Since several schools do not let out until 3:45 p.m., Superintendent Bennet has asked that principals make special arrangements to allow teachers that are being honored to leave early so they can participate in the event.
If you have any questions, please call Maxine Quintana at 720-913-0905. Thank you for participating in this exciting program to recognize the tremendous talent of DPS teachers.
Sincerely,
María Guajardo Lucero, Ph.D.
