Principal’s Summary:

With a return from the holiday break we are refocusing on our mission, “Ensure ALL kids get the extra time and support needed to achieve at a high level.” We have so many students who are new to Skyline Ranch K-8, and new to the Florence Unified School District. Our curriculum is different than that of the district from which they came, and that can create a need for some extra support. We are going through our benchmark data and pinpointing those areas in which we need improvement.

Looking ahead, we are anticipating our Positive Behaviors Intervention and Supports School Evaluation Tool (PBIS SET) interview on January 14. This is one area in which we have seen lots of success over the last two and a half years. Because Skyline Ranch was the original pilot school for PBIS in our district, we have had some practice with the PBIS SET. We are expecting a very good rating. Additionally, our students are looking forward to the District Spelling Bee, 100th Day of School celebrations, and our school science fair.

Our students continue to do great things and are being recognized for their success, effort, and talents. Two of our students, Hunter Masterson and Sabiel Acevedo, had their poetry work selected to be published in The America Library of Poetry book, Eloquence, 2015 Poetry Collection. Our soccer teams had great seasons, with our girls’ team not having a goal scored against them for the entire season until the second round of playoffs. Our boys’ team improved greatly this year, beating teams they had previously not and making it all the way to the championship game. I am very proud of the great students at Skyline Ranch K-8.

It’s GREAT to be a Bulldog!
