Criteri di valutazione(grading):
Compiti (HW):Daily homework postings will be listed on my website by 3:00 PM. All assigned homework will be checked at the beginning of the period. There will be various collected homework assignments per marking period. Note that these collected HW assignments may or may not be announced. Homework must be completed ON TIME for full credit. Late or incomplete homework WILL NOTbe accepted.
Lavoro fatto in classe(Classwork): Upon entering class, complete the “Fate Adesso”. There will always be a short assignment (Do Now) to complete upon arrival. Failure to do so will result in loss of points in your classworkgrade. These assignments will count as a quiz grade and will be collected after the allotted time is up.
Partecipazione (participation): Your participation and preparedness in this class is key! You have the opportunity to earna total of 6 participation points every 3 weeks. You will be responsible for bringing your tablet every day, CHARGED and ready for class.
Valutazioni (Esami/Presentazioni/Temi):[Exams/Presentations/Prompts] Can be written or oral. These assessments will be a cumulative review of the material presented in class. You will be assessed in the following categories:
Per esempio…
Interpretive mode: Reading a short passage and summarizing the main points or listening to a song and predicting what the singer’s intentions were while writing it.
Interpersonal mode: Having a conversation in Italian or writing emails back and forth with a friend. “Two-way” communication.
Presentational mode: Giving a speech in Italian or presenting a cultural based piece or ad for a target audience.
Lavoro mandato via email (emailed work): In the event that you need to email me work, please use your school account, not your personal account. If you are unable to print or access an assignment you must email Prof.ssa Russo the night before! (failure to do so will result in loss of points)
Your marking period grade will be determined by:
Total points earned
Total possible points
Codice etico (integrità): (cheating)
Is UNACCEPTABLE on any type of assignment OR assessment.
A zero will be given and the incident will be treated in accordance with the policy in the Student Handbook.
Cheating includes talking during a test/quiz, looking at someone’s paper during a test/quiz, copying homework or using an online translator.
L’uso dei dizionionari/traduttori online:
(Use of dictionaries/online translators)
Online translators are not permitted! This will result in a 0 for the assignment. Google Translate is NOT your friend! You may use as a reference for an online dictionary if you do not have an Italian dictionary at home.
Assenze + Puntualità:(Absences & Tardies)
After 8 unexcused absences from the class you will lose credit.
Three unexcused tardies results in an unexcused absence.
Cutting class will result in disciplinary referral; affecting academic standing.
Per lavoro mancato:(Missed work)
In the event of an absence, you will have ONE WEEK to make up any missed work. After a week, the missing grade stays a 0.
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed when you were absent; this includes checking your grades online through Genesis. Please ask me before class begins or at the end of class, NOT during class!
Missed work not made up in a timely fashion will become a zero. A zero will be put in the gradebook until the test/quiz/assignment has been made up. Missed work includes everything we do in class AND homework.
Cell Phone/Tablet Policy:
Cell phones are to be left in your locker unless instructed otherwise. We will be using the school tablets as our primary source of technology. Any audio/video recording without my permission will be subject to the consequences in the Manasquan BOE policy #5516.
Please make sure that you bring your tablet EVERYDAY and that it is fully charged!
**Nota bene: Points will be deducted from your grade if your tablet battery dies OR if you do not bring it to class [this will affect your grade with class activities]. Deduction will vary depending on assignment point value.
Le regole della classe(Classroom rules):
