Big news…We have received a very generous offer to match any Annual Fund donations made for a limited period of time up to a total of $15,000! That means your contribution to Nativity will be doubled. Please send in your contributions to the parish office today and make your gift count twice! Also, don’t forget to check with your employer about a corporate match donation. To learn more, visit http://www.nativity-cincinnati.org/giving/annual-fund/.

Vatican II Book Study: The books for our study have been ordered from the parish, but you can still participate either as a reader or non-reader. Purchase your own book from Amazon or wherever, then join us beginning January 15th and for the following 5 Tuesday evenings. You are invited to attend even if you have not read the book. Parishioner and Theology Professor at Xavier University, Dr. Christopher Pramuk, will facilitate this study. Please call or email Sr. Janet if you plan to attend so that we can plan seating .

The Giving Tree committee wishes to express our deep gratitude to all of you who helped this year. This project could not happen without your support and participation. Thank you to all who shopped, bought, wrapped and brought in gifts. Thank you to the parish and school staffs, to Mrs. Burwinkel and the students who colored the tags, and to all who helped carry gifts out of church. And thank you to those who gave time and energy sorting and delivering gifts. We feel privileged to work with the caring, compassionate and generous people of Nativity Parish. God bless you all!! Dick & Joanne Thomas, Jan Brown and Margaret Shaw.

National Migration Week 2013 is January 6-12, a time designated by the U.S. Catholic bishops for us to remember the migration journey of the Holy Family as they crossed the border into Egypt to escape death from the hands of King Herod. This year’s theme is “We Are Strangers No Longer: Our Journey of Hope Continues.” Each of us can be a source of hope for the “stranger” in our midst today: the immigrant, the refugee, and victims of oppression, torture, and human trafficking. The Church renews it’s call to reach out to these brothers and sisters of ours through our prayers, our learning about their struggles, our supporting their integration into American life, and our advocacy for comprehensive immigration reform. “Why We Need Comprehensive Immigration Reform:”

Remembering always that the Holy Family, fleeing persecution

on its own land, was also a migrant family, how do we today unfurl the welcome mat to Christ present in the thousands of immigrants coming to the doorstep and still keep our own house orderly and safe?...It seems that only comprehensive immigration reform can simultaneously restore both order and human dignity.

If you want to learn more or how to get more involved in the immigration issue, visit www.justiceforimmigrants.org or contact the Archdiocese at .

Financial Aid Forms Available: Parish members in financial need are encouraged to stop by the parish office to obtain a Private School Aid (PSAS) form. The application form to request financial aid for next year’s tuition is due January 31, 2013.

Please extend a warm welcome to our new parishioners: Dan and Beth Driehaus, along with their two children Eleanor and Quinn; and Addam and Shelby Drenner, along with their two children Jack and Madeline. Welcome to Nativity!

Wine Tasting January 11th from 7:00-10:00 pm in the school cafeteria: A night out for you with music by Triple Dead Heat (Tom Daugherty’s band), food and wines from Chile, (there will also be some beer and soft drinks for those who don’t drink wine.) Proceeds benefit the Give Back the Gift Alumni Education fund for Nativity School. So spread the word! Invite your friends! You can register by sending a $25 check payable to Nativity Wine Tasting to school, the parish office or on the Alumni website www.nativity-cincinnati.org/school/alumni. See you there! Want to help? Please call Sr. Carren at 531-0720.

There is a way of life where simplicity brings joy and humility leads to happiness, where we learn that less is more, and in giving we receive. It’s our refuge from chaos and light to guide us through darkness. It’s a place where the broken receive healing and repentant hearts find mercy. Here our days are set free from anxiety and addictions and our nights rest with more peace. So where is this hope and who knows the way? Our hope rests in Jesus and His Church leads the way. If you’re longing to fill emptiness or seeking a way home, we invite you to experience the peace that only comes from the Catholic Church. We invite you to take another look. Please visit CathlolicsComeHome.org today.

Changing Address or Phone Number? Many times when parishioners move or change telephone numbers they forget to notify the Parish Office. If you have moved or changed phone numbers recently, please let us know.
