Agenda Item / Presenter / Discussion points / Action/Decision
Call to Order / The meeting was called to order at 2:00pm by Pam Mulcock, Boise State UniversityClinical Coordinator. She welcomed those in attendance.
Introductions / BSU:
  • Melissa Hardy is the new Administrative Assistant who will be working with Pam on Clinical Connections.

Fall 2014 Meeting minutes / Pam/Members /
  • Christin Doyle has one update that she will send to Pam.
/ Pending update from Christin.
Introduce clinical site evaluation form / Pam/Members /
  • Pam informed the members that we would like to create a standardized form for group clinicals but not individual preceptorships.
  • Survey Monkey was discussed as a possible option as it is easier to filter data. Susan from ISU mentioned there is an annual fee but stated that she would be willing to manage the data.
  • Blackboard was mentioned as an option, but not every school utilizes the software.
/ Melissa will add the “Evaluation of Students and Faculty” and “Facility Evaluation of Clinical Facility” forms to the Clinical Connections website. Members will review and send feedback to Melissa.
Introduce possible new format for clinical placement / Pam/Members /
  • A draft version of the new spreadsheet was passed out to the members and presented by Pam. Members had mentioned in previous meetings that they did not like the layout of the current spreadsheet used by Clinical Connections.
  • Several members mentioned the need to add a few things to the form, such as: the instructor’s name, max number of students, weekends and A.M. and P.M.
  • Pam pulled up the old format to compare and contrast with the new spreadsheet.
  • Several members stated that they do not want to have to re-learn how to read the data in the new spreadsheet.
/ A vote was taken and only one member showed an interest in the new form. Members decided they would continue to use the same excel spreadsheet format that is on the Clinical Connections website.
Clinical Connections site modification / Pam/Members /
  • Members reviewed the Clinical Connections site.
/ Members came to a consensus that they would like the “Agency Documents” and “Clinical Faculty Contact Information” removed from the website as the information is constantly changing and it is hard to keep it up to date and accurate.
Members will send any updated contact information to Melissa to be added or corrected on the website.
Clinical Scheduling / Pam/Members /
  • Pam suggested to the group that they look at keeping the schedules the same throughout the year to make it easier on the hospitals.
  • Several members pointed out that the schools have different classes in each semester.
/ Members concluded that the schools will look at having the same requests for each Spring and Fall semester. If a school has a curriculum change, the group would need to meet and approve any changes.
Future Host for Fall 2015 Clinical Connections Meeting / Pam/Members / Consensus of the members was to meet on Wednesday, September 9th 2015 at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Carrington stated they would be interested in hosting a future meeting.
Boise State University will host a work group sometime in April to firm up scheduling concerns for the Fall. Melissa will send out a Doodle to find a day/time that works best for everyone.
Call-in feature / Pam/Members /
  • Should a call-in feature be used at future CC meetings
/ Members agreed that a call-in feature would be helpful to have at future meetings.
Fall 2015 schedule concerns / Pam/Members /
  • Several hospitals have not turned in their schedule or have units pending.
/ Members will send completed Fall 2015 CC schedules to Melissa.
Adjournment / The meeting was adjourned by Pam at 4:25pm.
