Shiny Icing for Never Fair Sugar Cookies

Tools and Utensils:
Dry measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Small mixing bowl
Small disposable bowls (1 for each color)
Plastic spoons (1 for each color)
Small plastic zip bags (optional for detailing)
Plastic wrap
Waxed paper

Ingredients

/ Amounts / Procedure
Powdered sugar
Vanilla, almond, lemon or orange extract (coordinate with cookie flavor)
Milk
Food coloring / 1 c.
¼ t.
3 ½ t.
As needed / 1.  in a small mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, extract and liquid until smooth.
2.  Divide icing into several disposable bowls and add food coloring, mixing to make desired icing colors.
3.  Cover icings with plastic wrap to prevent drying.
4.  Place completely cooled cookies on waxed paper and gently spread a small amount of desired icing into a thin coating.
5.  Allow iced cookies to dry for 20-30 minutes before storing between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container at room temperature.
