AGENDA MEETING
The Chippewa Township Board of Supervisors held their monthly Agenda Meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 11, 2017. Present were Chairman Jim Bouril, Supervisor Nancy Lamey, Manager Mark Taylor, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Rich Bebout, Code Enforcement Officer Dawna Pella and Administrative Assistant Cindy Clark. Supervisor Mark Hoenig was not present.
Chairman Bouril brought the meeting to order.
VISITORS
Chief Berchtold attended.
MANAGER
Township Manager Mark Taylor had the following items for discussion or action:
1. Ordinance Number 257 - Parking:
Manager Taylor said that this ordinance regulating parking at Veterans Park and on Dillon and Loughridge will be advertised. Chairman Bouril said that he agrees 100% with the portion of the ordinance that deals with Veterans Park. He said there are people there who insist on parking on the grass instead of where they should park. He said he also agrees that there is potential for parking problems on Dillon and Loughridge but he is not sure that he agrees with how the ordinance is worded in its present form. He would like to know how many parking spots were available at Northwestern compared to here. He is also concerned about the words “2 hours before, during, and 2 hours after any football game or other school athletic event”. He wondered if someone would call the police about someone parking on Dillon or Loughridge during a swim meet or during any event. He said that if the parking ordinance needed to be passed quickly due to a dangerous emergency matter, he would want to do something right away. But it was noted that there will be no football games at the Blackhawk field this year, so he would rather wait before taking a vote on this legislation.

2. Ordinance Number 258 – Architectural Options and Standards:
Mr. Taylor said the required hearing on this is set for 7 p.m. on October 18th. There have been multiple meetings on these architectural options and standards with the Planning Commission and consultants over a long period of time. This will be incorporated into our zoning ordinance. This will set new standards for new construction of commercial buildings in the Township, and there will be a point system. He said that the last two new businesses met the new standards and criteria and are esthetically pleasing.
3. Brian D. Schriner Subdivision:
Manager Taylor said that this is a request for a lot line removal. It was discussed by the Planning Commission last night. Drawings for the Supervisors to look over are available. Voting on this can be done next Wednesday.
4. Deselich Subdivision:
Mr. Taylor explained this is for an additional lot and said the paperwork on the subdivision is available for the Supervisors to see prior to next Wednesday’s meeting.
5. McCaughtry Farm (Latsko)Lot Line Removal:
This is a lot line removal and the drawings are available for the Supervisors to look over before next Wednesday.
6. Valvoline Instant Oil Change Land Development:
Manager Taylor said that the drawings for Valvoline are also on the table to see.
MANAGER’S MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
Manager Taylor also said that a few budget meetings need to be set up. He asked the Supervisors to check their calendars so these budget meetings can be set up and advertised.
The Manager said that members of the Fire Department want to meet with the Supervisors. The Supervisors decided that they could meet with them on October 18th at 6 p.m.
