Carver Center Standard Attire 2016-2017

PLEASE NOTE: If your child needs uniform items for next year PLEASE consider purchasing from FrenchToast.com or LandsEnd.com. Both companies will give PTA a percentage of purchases made. When making a purchase, give the following codes: French Toast – QS5RPCC and Lands’ End – 900146036.

  • All attire must be in the approved colors as listed below.

SHIRTS:

  • SHORT OR LONG SLEEVE POLO STYLE KNIT SHIRTS WITH COLLAR:

1. Solid royal blue (not pale blue), navy, gold (bright yellow), white, black or gray

2. Or Stripes in any combination of royal blue, navy, gold (bright yellow) or white

3. Logos, insignia or label must be less than 2” by 2”

4. Tucked-in at all times

  • SHORT OR LONG SLEEVE BUTTON FRONT, COLLARED SHIRTS or BLOUSES

1. Solid colors only: Royal blue, navy, gold (bright yellow), or white

2. Shirts must be buttoned up (2 buttons open maximum)

3. Logos, insignia or label must be less than 2” by 2”

4. Tucked-in at all times

DRESSES:

  • SHORT OR LONG SLEEVE POLO STYLE DRESSES (knit with collar):

1. Royal blue, navy, gold (bright yellow), white, black, or gray (solid colors only in the named colors)

2. Logo, insignia or label must be less than 2” by 2”

3. Hem lines of dresses must be no more than 3” from the top of the knee including any slits in the hem lines

STANDARD ATTIRE BOTTOMS:

  • PANTS, SHORTS, CAPRIS, SKIRTS, JUMPERS

1. Khaki, navy or black twill, chino or similar fabric (No denim)

2. No leggings or jeggings without appropriate length skirt, dress, or shorts

3. No cargo or painter style pants, shorts, or capris

4. Hem lines of shorts, jumpers, dresses and skirts must be no more than 3” from the top of the knee including any slits in the hem lines

5. Logo, insignia or label must be less than 2” by 2”.

  • BELTS

1. Solid black, navy, brown or khaki (void of any writing, brand name, trim or artwork)

2. Leather, leather like, or same fabric as pants, shorts, capris, or skirts

3. Belts required on all clothing with belt loops (Belt loops cannot be cut off the attire to avoid wearing a belt).

COATS, LEGGINGS, and ACCESSORIES:

1. Acceptable options: Royal blue, navy, gold (yellow), white, black, gray or khaki

a. Outer wear worn in class: jackets, coats, sweaters, and sweatshirts (hoods down during the school day or activity)

(SOLID COLORS only in the standard attire colors listed above – LARGE LOGOS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED)

b. Layering under standard attire: turtlenecks, long-sleeve crew and V-neck shirts, leggings, and

tights(SOLID COLORS only in the standard attire colors listed above)

c. Socks – No color restrictions

d. All hair accessories - No color restrictions

2. Logo, insignia, artwork or label must be less than 2” by 2.”

3. Coats/jackets/sweatshirt worn to school that are not solid royal blue, navy, gold (yellow), white, black or khaki must be

removed while students are in the school building.

  • Unacceptable options: Bandanas, head scarves, caps, hats, or items that overlay standard attire other than those specifically listed in item (1a) above
  • Monday attire (Not the same as Friday attire day): Carver Center students are invited to participate in our college awareness Mondays. Students may wear a college shirt (t-shirt or collared shirt, NO JERSEYS), tucked-in with their belted standard attire bottoms. Students are not required to participate in our College Mondays. Students who opt out of wearing a college shirt on Monday must wear the standard attire.
  • Friday attire: Any Carver Center t-shirt or MISD Junior High/High School t-shirt worn with full length (khaki, black or blue) jeans, jean shorts or jean capris that meet MISD dress code and that are devoid of any visible writing, trim or art work or with standard attire slacks, shorts, or skirts. PLEASE NOTE: SHIRTS MAY BE UNTUCKED AND BELTS ARE NOT REQUIRED.
