In conjunction with our partner organisation, the J.Marr Group, CBBC is currently looking to recruit a candidate for the following position, which will be based in Shanghai.

Business Development Manager, Shanghai

Based near the port of Hull, England, the J Marr Group consists of J.Marr (Seafoods) Ltd and J.Marr (Commodities) Ltd which are both subsidiaries of Andrew Marr International a group with a heritage and history that stretches back over a hundred years.

The businesses J.Marr (Seafoods) Ltd are focused on procuring, sourcing and trading pelagic fish species within our core markets of Africa, Eastern Europe, the Far East and South America with J.Marr (Commodities) Ltd dedicated to providing a similar trade in frozen meat and poultry.

J Marr (Seafoods) Limited has a group turnover of nearly £400m, and our strategic focus is developing the Chinese market by adding a business development manager to join our existing Chinese team of 3, based in Shanghai. To help this strategy we are currently converting our Representative Office into a WFOE, and expect this to be completed by end of January/start February 2016.

The Role:

·  One of J Marrs strategic aims is to develop its sales into China, through local distribution; we are also looking to develop our Squid product trading.

·  We are looking to recruit a business development manager who has strong commercial skills along with local distribution experience and Squid trading experience.

·  The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for:

·  Facilitating sourcing and sales of Seafood Products into and out of China

·  Facilitating sales of Meat, Poultry and Fishmeal into China

·  Identifying and meeting with potential customers and suppliers

·  Contributing to market entry strategy, supporting data and recommendations for new product development

·  Preparing analysis on competition, demand, pricing scenarios

·  Assisting in developing sales forecasts

The Person:

Applicants will have local distribution experience as well as preferably having several years experience in trading either Seafood, Meat, Poultry. Experience of trading Squid is particularly of advantage.

However, the successful candidate must be highly entrepreneurial, ambitious, driven, and determined to succeed. Only the most dynamic, enthusiastic candidates with the highest energy levels should apply because the role is one where an individual can add real value and grow with the company.

The ability to liaise with, and build and maintain strong and effective personal relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers is essential.

Qualifications:

Applicants will preferably have as a minimum a Bachelors degree in commerce, business, agriculture or fisheries. Applicants from candidates with Masters Degree qualifications are also welcome.

However, applicants without a degree, but who have a background in trading either Seafood, Meat, Poultry or Canned Fish should not be deterred from applying.

Language Skills:

Mandarin – Native. English – Fluent. In addition to excellent oral skills in English, reading/written communication skills for daily email and the ability to prepare various market reports is essential

Computer Skills:

Must have business level fluency utilizing MS Outlook, Excel, and Word as required to interface within our daily business operations.

Job Location:

The Business Development Manager will be based in the company’s Office which is currently located at OneLujiazui, No.68 Yin Cheng Road (C), Pudong, Shanghai, China. P.C. 200120

The role will involve travel across China and Internationally.

Reporting Line:

The role will report to both the current Rep Office Chief Representative (who will become the General Manager & Legal representative of the WFOE when this organisation is established) and J Marr’s Managing Director.
