Immediate Supervisor:Ministry Coordinator for Good News Clubs

General Responsibilities

The Children’s Ministry Specialist is responsible for the oversight of the After-School Good News Clubs (GNC) in the assigned Districts; ensures the quality of the Clubs as it relates to the mission of CEF; manages the growth within currently operating Good News Clubs as well as expanding in their assigned Districts.

The Children’s Ministry Specialist should demonstrate a balanced approach to Christian living in:

A daily walk with God

A Spirit-led life in the use of time and responsibilities

Local church involvement

Ministry-spiritual leadership with humbleness and submission to the Lord as a servant leader

Responsibility Overview

1)Ensures Quality of Good News Clubs in schools within the assigned area

Conducts periodic visits to clubs (at least once per Semester, by you or a qualified individual in your place)

Evaluates: Quality in instruction (evangelism, discipleship, invitations)
Quality in student care (safety, fun)

Quality of adopting church partnership

2)Managesgrowth of the Good News Clubs in schoolswithin the assigned area

Promotes expansion of the GNC program in new schools in the District

-Makes GNC program known via interactions with others in the communities

(e.g. mothers, churches, businesses, etc)

-Informs Director and Ministry Coordinator of key contacts and PR opportunities

Managesthe growth of established clubs by encouraging ongoing recruitment of qualified and called volunteers.

3)Oversees GNC teams and relationships with the adopting church.

Maintains spiritual care, inspiration and motivation of individual team leaders

Ensures in partnership with the Team Leaders and the CEF Office, that all team members are trained and appropriately screened.

Ensures that regular communication is maintained between the club and the adopting church

-praise/prayer reports

Monitors established system to connect unchurched child/family with adopting church

Conducts periodic team meetings as needed with club teams in assigned area

Ensures administrative responsibilities are accomplished (monthly statistics)

4)Trains GNC volunteers, as requested, by Ministry Coordinator at least twice a year as part of worker refresher sessions and/or individualized new worker training.

5)Builds positive relationships with the local school offices in assigned area.

Works with Director and Ministry Coordinator to arrange club times and locations.

6)Undertakes 30 hour Teaching Children Effectively Level 1 Course as part of on-the job training.

7)Meets regularly with Director and Ministry Coordinator

8)Accomplishes other tasks as requested by Director andMinistry Coordinator
