The College Avenue church of Christ (El Dorado, Arkansas) is looking for an individual who loves the Lord with all of their heart and has a passion for sharing His love with children!

The College Avenue church of Christ is a family of believers led by nine shepherds and numerous deacons and other ministry leaders. We have met at this location for the past 62 years.

STAFF: Kent Jobe has been on staff since 2001 serving as youth minister, Discipleship Minister, and as the Senior/Pulpit minister (since July 2013). Jason Baker has served as the youth minister for the past 9 years and Gary Schloemer has served as the Discipleship minister for the past 3 ½ years.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help form and cast a vision for the present and future of the children’s ministry.
  • Oversee the educational/spiritual formation of programs in the children’s ministry including recruiting teachers/volunteers, training and equipping teachers, find substitute teachers when necessary, organize and order curriculum,supply classes with necessary resources, track perfect attendance, etc.
  • Sunday A.M. Classes
  • Wednesday P.M. Classes/Praise Time
  • Children’s Church Program (Backyard Bible Club)
  • Promotion Sunday (Beginning of School)
  • Oversee special events of the children’s ministry including:
  • Organize service and fun events for the kids and their families.
  • Attend and be active in Camp Kurios
  • Approach activities in ways that make them inviting to members and guests
  • Regularly publicize children’s ministry activities in the church bulletin, Family Matters, announcements, etc.
  • Join with the rest of the staff in pursuing the overall success of the church
  • Attend weekly staff meetings on Wednesday mornings
  • Assist with outreach through visitation and follow up with visitors and community members

Supervision:

  • The Children’s Minister will be under the oversight of the Senior Minister and the administrative elders and will report to them when requested. The Children’s Minister will also work with the staff to plan dates, times, and effectiveness.

Education and Special Skills:

  • Use of a personal computer and familiarity with desktop publishing
  • Above all else, a sincere interest in and love for young people, and the desire and capability of working with their parents

We will strongly encourage the one selected to attend various conferences, lectureships, etc. to gain additional insight into this ministry.

Work Schedule: Negotiable

Salary:Negotiable and based on experience
