Internship Description:Intern will receive experience working with families and children in the foster care system and the Department of Child and Family Services. The Foster Care team provides case manager for the children in care while providing support and services (i.e., therapy, parenting, legal representation, substance abuse or domestic violence treatment, and other services to help support the family’s stability).Intern will receive guidance in making sound and appropriate clinical decisions regarding the best interest and safety of youth under state ward ship. Specific duties include, but are not limited to; client interviews and assessment, monitoring and assessment of family contacts, and attendance at Court, Administrative Case Reviews, Clinical Staffings, Team Meetings. / Internship suitable for undergraduate and graduatestudents pursuing a degree in Social Work or a related field.

Internship Description:Intern will receive experience working with youth who are being considered for an evaluation or a commitment to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) between 13 and 18 years of age. Redeploy provides a biographical psychosocial assessment along with a psychological or mental health assessment on each youth in an attempt to identify deficits and strengths. Enrolled youth receiveintensive case management services, and have access to a caseworker 24 hours a day. Internship Description:Intern will receive experience working with families that have adopted children. Adoptive families may experience issues that differ from biologically created families in significant ways.Children served through the Adoption & Guardianship Preservation program often experience significant emotional or behavioral issues including chronic lying, stealing, aggression, eating, or sleeping disturbances, fire-setting, sexual acting out, and attachment difficulties. Children may also be experiencing loss, grief, and/or separation issues and in some cases may present with medical, organic, or neurological disabilities like Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, mood disorders, attachment disorders, and other psychiatric diagnoses.Frequently these children also experience adjustment issues related to adoption or guardianship.
Intern will work with licensed counselors to provide services that may include intensive family or individual therapy, attachment therapy, art or play therapy, respite, support groups, case management, advocacy, and crisis intervention. / Internship suitable forgraduatestudents pursuing a degree in:

The program builds upon family strengths and identifies and serves children and families with the greatest need in Cahokia and other portions of St. Clair County.
Home Visiting Interns will assist with assessing families, connecting them with local resources, and developing individual child and parent activities, and will accompany Home Visitors as they meet with families in the community to support healthy parent-child attachment and provide education on a variety of parenting topics.
