Parents, wider family members and adoption support staff will have an opportunity to consider the neurophysiological issues underlying aggressive and violent behaviour in some children who are looked after or adopted. The day will provide an introduction to a range of practical Non Violent Resistance strategies and explain the vital role of those supporting families both in professional roles and as family members or friends. The training will be delivered by a Partnership Projects accredited practitioner.

Parenting our Children equips parents with knowledge and understanding of developmental trauma and attachment and gives them tools they need to parent children who have had experienced these issues. This course is open to parents from the Vale, Valleys and Cardiff Adoption Service, South East Wales Adoption Service, Barnardos and St David’s. Getting It Right for Every Child Cardiff area

This education workshop is open to teachers, teaching assistants and adoptive parents. Participants will develop a greater knowledge of the neurological and physiological issues faced in education by children who have experienced early trauma and learn about areas of the curriculum which may prove challenging for them. There will be opportunities to practice some simple techniques which are effective for working with these children.
