NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under section 17(1) of “The Commissions for the Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005”, the Government of Telangana has constituted “The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights” (SCPCR) vide G.O.Ms.No.11, Dept. for Women, Children, Disabled & Senior Citizens (Schemes) dated: 25.11.2014.
The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights shall consist of a Chairperson and six members out of which at least two shall be women.
The Chairperson and members of the Commission shall be appointed on the recommendation of a Selection Committee constituted by the State Government, under the Chairmanship of the Minister in charge of Women and Child Welfare, as per section 18 of “The Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005.
The Rules for the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) have been issued vide G.O.Ms.No.3, Dept., for W.C.D & S.C. (Schemes), dt. 20.01.2015.
As per Rule 19 of the said rules, the functions of the SCPCR, briefly are as under:-
The SCPCR will examine and review the safeguards provided by any law and present reports on the status of child rights protection.
As per the sub-section (2) of section 17 of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, the State Commission shall consist of the following Members:
a)A Chairperson who is person of “Eminence” and has done “outstanding work” for promoting the welfare of children and
b)Six members, out of which at least two shall be women, from the following fields, to be appointed by the State Government from amongst persons of Eminence, Ability, Integrity, Standing and Experience in,
  1. Education
  2. Child health, care, welfare or child development;
  3. Juvenile Justice or care of neglected or marginalized children or children with disabilities;
  4. Elimination of child labour or children in distress;
  5. Child psychology or sociology; and
  6. Laws relating to children”.
Age Criteria:
Provided no chairperson or member shall hold office as such after he has attained-
(i) In the case of Chairperson, the age of sixty-five years; and
(ii)In the case of Member, the age of sixty years

Applications received during the notification only shall be considered & any received beyond due date will not be accepted.
