Dr. Takeda LeGrand

  • Master’s Degree required with Doctorate Degree highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of NC Testing Program
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory/administrative/ management experience in a diverse educational setting preferred
  • Must have the ability to multi-task projects, people, and events to perform the job effectively and must have dynamic communication skills
  • Must have extensive experience with an established model of continuous improvement in the educational setting

RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and supervise the District’s performance and accountability program, to include:

  • Establishing the annual testing calendar
  • Receiving and providing for the security of testing materials from the Department of Public Instruction
  • Supervising the development and implementation of secure and ethical procedures for the administration of tests required by local, state and federal accountability systems
  • Collaborating with administration and curriculum staff on the development, review and results of testing programs, including state testing programs, Federal accountability requirements, and local predictive and common formative assessments; assists with the evaluation and interpretation of testing data to administration and staff
  • Preparing reports of testing results for schools and the Board of Education
  • Reporting test results to schools and to the Board of Education
  • Conducting training on test administration
  • Conducting training on use of test information for improvement of instruction and student performance
  • Upholding testing ethics
  • Keeping abreast of testing regulations and information
  • Conducting other duties as necessary to insure that testing is conducted accurately and with integrity
  • Using state software and programs (word processing, spreadsheet, database) to produce additional reports
  • Ability to use SAS or SQL to manipulate and analyze data
  • Provides data analysis and reporting, designs-data collections strategies, collects and/or assembles data, and design basic information services to facilitate the analysis of data
  • Applies appropriate statistical analysis; produce graphical and narrative summaries of data and statistical analysis and write reports of findings

Facilitate the continuous improvement efforts of the district, to include:

  • Facilitate continuous improvement efforts through the AdvancED district accreditation process.
  • Support and monitor school compliance with AdvancED standards for accreditation
  • Trains staff on use of continuous improvement tools and initiatives such as, but not limited to, PDSA and CWT.
  • Oversees district level PDSA’s and process in conjunction with other departmental leaders
  • Lead district level PDSA’s as needed
  • Provides oversight to student support services
  • Conducts evaluations of key initiatives as a means of informing the superintendent, Board and community
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
