The Chicago Football Classic hosts two top HBCU schools, Albany State and Kentucky State University. This year’s festivities feature a celebrity filled weekend beginning Thursday leading up to the highly anticipated game.

The Chicago Football Classic showcases football teams and marching bands from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This year’s game on Saturday, September 29th at Soldier Field features a spirited game between the Albany State Rams and the Kentucky State Thorobreds.

The always anticipated classic is more than just a game; it’s a three-day extravaganza that brings awareness to HBCUs, exposes Chicago students to various aspects of the college experience and focuses on the “Back To School” initiative. The Chicago Football Classic supports education to end the violence in our community. The College Fair will feature 30 colleges and universities.

The Chicago Football Classic Greek Coalition was formed to ensure that there is a Black Greek Letter Organization (BGLO) presence during the classic.

The coalition is looking to have a Greek row at Soldier’s Field the day of the game on September 29, 2012.

The Greek Row will be section 212 & 213. Each Divine 9 organization will be asked to fill up sections of the Greek Row. Tickets will sell for $30. For every ticket sold through a particular chapter, that chapter will get $5. It is a great fundraising opportunity.

Please make checks or money orders payable to Rho Gamma Gamma Chapter. The ticket payment deadlines are as follows:

Initial payment deadline – Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Final payment deadline – Wednesday, September 19, 2012

All payments must be received by the final deadline. Please call, text, or e-mail to arrange ticket pickup. Mail payments to Soror Renee S. Byrd, P.O. Box 167211, Chicago, IL 60616-7211. Include a mailing address for tickets.

Parking Information:

You can park in the 31st Street McCormick Place Lot. It costs $16 and there are shuttle buses to bring you to the 18th Street Shuttle Turnaround, directly across from the stadium. You can also walk to the stadium from the 31st Street Lot.

You can also park in the East Monroe Street / Millennium Park garages, located at Columbus Drive and Monroe Street. It costs $13 and you can then take the free shuttle directly to the 18th Street Shuttle Turnaround. The shuttle bus takes about 10 minutes because it travels on a specially designed bus way which keeps it out of most Soldier Field traffic. There are over 40 buses continuously shuttling fans beginning five hours prior to kickoff.

Lastly, we recommend taking public transportation. The Transportation Center, located northeast of the stadium (at the corner of McFetridge and Museum Campus Drive) is where the CTA, Metra shuttle, and PACE bus services will be available for fans drop-off and pick-up. The CTA's train service for the Red, Orange or Green Lines are available at the Roosevelt Road and State Street Station. For schedule and route information, please contact: RTA (312) 836-7000 or rtachicago.com or CTA (888) YOUR-CTA or transitchicago.com .
