CHIA Report Manager Requires .Net Framework V2.0 and MDAC V2.8(Microsoft Data Access Component)

IT Professionals

CHIA Report Manager requires .Net Framework v2.0 and MDAC v2.8(Microsoft Data Access Component) for install. MDAC is used by Microsoft Office Professional but is not always installed. It is required for the report database file.

Database directory

CHIA Report Manager uses an OleDb database file and is stored either locally or on a network of your choosing. The database file will contain reports that your user(s) will input so it is recommended that it be stored on a network drive that is backed up regularly. The directory needs to be read and write accessible for your user(s) as to allow inserts and updated to the database. When the program is run for the first time, you will be asked to choose a location for the CHIA folder. This folder will contain the database file, submission, receipt, and provider files. Although the folder name must be named CHIA, its location is up to you as long as it is accessible to the user with read/write permissions. If at any time you want to move the CHIA folder, simply cut and paste it to another location. Then run the CHIA Report Manager and select the new location when prompted. Although it will probably no be needed, storing the CHIA folder on the network also allows network sharing of the database file for multiple users.

Remote installation

When installing the CHIA Report Manager remotely, please note that sometimes the program will show up in the taskbar but not on the desktop when loaded remotely. In all the cases, whenit has been brought to our attention, the program has functioned properly on the user’s machine. This issue is currently unresolved.

Submitting reports via Outlook

CHIA Report Manager has a feature that allows users to submit their reports via Outlook. If the user does not use Outlook then instruct them to submit manually. It’s just an email with an attachment. Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same. Only Outlook will allow proxy transmission.

When sending via Outlook, Office will display this dialog box:

The user must click Yes in order to give permission to Office to allow the email to be sent. Any email sent via Outlook is saved in its Sent Items folder. This is a good way to verify that the message was sent.
