Position Description

Position: PRESIDENT-ELECT (VP)

Position Summary:

Assist the president in overseeing all the activities of the chapter, especially the annual SHAPE report requirements and Pinnacle Award and PASHRM Chapter of the Year Award criteria. In the absence of the president, perform all the presidential responsibilities.

Responsible To:

  • The members of the chapter
  • The chapter president

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare member name tags and maintain for entire year. Prepare guest, sponsor and speaker nametags as provided by Chapter administrator. Man name tag table at monthly general meetings and act as chapter greeter. Collect name tags at end of meeting and thank members and non-members for attending.
  • Coordinate/solicit items to be raffled off at monthly meetings in order to raise money for the chapter's Charity of the Year.
  • In conjunction with Treasurer and President, oversee development of chapter's annual budget.
  • Along with - or if President is not available, attend PASHRM meetings, conferences and/or conference calls. If unable to attend, find another Board officer (or member) to represent chapter.
  • Attend SHRM Leadership conference as required.
  • Assist Publicity Chair and Chapter Admin, as needed, to promote monthly meetings and other events.
  • As needed, act as liaison between CCHRA and other SHRM chapters, community organizations, and/or annual charity.
  • Upon request, assist all officers and/or Board members in performing their responsibilities and advise them of procedures for reimbursements and obtaining supplies.
  • Periodically update Board members and President on progress towards meeting criteria for annual SHAPE report, Pinnacle Award, and PASHRM Chapter of the Year Award.
  • Perform all special projects as assigned by the president.
  • Attend (and preside over, in President's absence) all monthly membership and board of directors meetings.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic planning for the chapter.
  • Represent the chapter in the human resources community.

Requirements:

  • Must be a SHRM member in good standing for entire term of office.
  • Must be a CCHRA chapter member for entire term of office.
  • Must make 3-year commitment (President Elect, President, Past President)
