From the Pastor’s Desk

Dear Friends,

This week I want to recite a story about a little leopard named Harriet. Harriet was rescued as a cub from poachers. She was raised by a man named John in his home that was across a river from a nature preserve. When Harriet was old enough, John released her into the nature preserve. She adapted quickly, and had two cubs of her own. One day a flood came to the preserve and Harriet and her cubs had to flee her flooding den. They went back home to John’s house and stayed in his kitchen until the flood was over. The river was too strong for Harriet and her cubs to swim across, so she put them in John’s boat and he ferried them back to the preserve.

We live in the wild of life. We may feel we do all right, but sometimes flood waters rise in our lives. We do not always know how to handle them. We can be like Peter who walked on water until his faith was shaken by the crashing waves, and he began to sink. We must be ready to return home to our Father in Heaven when these hard times come. We can find security in Scripture and prayer, so that we may go back to the wild renewed and encouraged to face the challenges that await us there.

The Peace of our Lord,

Nate

Building Committee Updates!

The building committee has been extremely busy over the course of the last month, with the renovation of the Social Room, and the replacement of the carpet throughout the Sanctuary, Social Room, and restrooms! As noted by the results of the online survey that was posted last winter, the members of the Cherry Fork Presbyterian Church listed the renovation of the Social Room and new carpet for the church as the most desired projects. Thanks tothe generosity of the people in our church, these projects were both able to be completed prior to the initial projected date. The Social Room renovation was funded by a sum of money thathad beengiven to the church from the estate of the late Hubert Reed, while allother expenses were covered by donations. In order to make all of this possible, many people were involved in the process. A great big "THANK YOU" goes out to the following individuals who assisted with the renovation of theSocialRoom and/or the preparation of theChurch for the new carpet:
