Electricity Supply Board (ESB) was established in 1927. As a strong, diversified, vertically integrated utility, ESB operates right across the electricity market: from generation, through transmission and distribution to supply. In addition, ESB extracts further value at certain points along this chain: supplying gas, using our networks to carry fibre for telecommunications, developing electric vehicle public charging infrastructure and more.

ESB Traineeship Programme

Now in its 11th year and to date we have been able to offer 100 participants experience and training in a modern business environment. The Traineeships are for 6 months duration and are paid employment opportunities.

ESB Dublin Bay Power Generating Station

·  ESB Dublin Bay Power, formerly known as Synergen, is located in Ringsend, Dublin 4.

·  It was one of the first independent power plants built in the deregulated Irish Electricity market.

·  The plant, a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), was commissioned in 2002 and generates 410MW with gas as its main fuel.

·  The plant is equipped with environmentally friendly and efficient power generation technology, producing electricity in a safe, cost effective and environmentally-friendly/socially responsible way.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with Finance and Administration duties within the Plant:

·  Including Spreadsheet analysis.

·  Entering data.

·  Importing data from SAP to excel for further analysis.

·  Processing of vendor invoices.

Assisting in the Annual Stock check (Please be aware that part of this stock check will involve climbing stairs).

Qualifications

·  Business Qualification with Accountancy

Essential/Desirable

·  Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

·  Good IT skills with a knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and ideally SharePoint (training will be provided).

·  Good organisational skills.

·  Good attention to detail.
