Students should bring their textbook each class period. Students will not be allowed to share a textbooks. For fairness and security reasons, the use of programmable calculators are not allowed on quizzes or tests.
HOMEWORK:
There will be approximately three homework assignments assigned each week. On some
occasions, class time will be given to work on assignments. If work is not completed during class
time, then the work will need to be completed at home. Assignments are posted on my webpage
located on the district website.
GRADING:
Total Points – Homework, quizzes, tests, labs (80%)
Semester Exam – (20%)
DAILY QUIZ GRADES:
Throughout the semester, quizzes will be given over vocabulary terms and notes over the current
Chapter/material. These quizzes are calculated into the grade as total points.
CALCULATIONS:
Students are required to show ALL work on each problem in order to demonstrate the process used to arrive at the correct answer. Credit will not be given unless work is shown in legible fashion.
ABSENCES and ASSIGNMENTS:
Students are responsible for getting notes and/or worksheets when they are absent. If absent due to a school function, they must see me in advance of the absence to make arrangements for work missed. I strongly urge students who are absent to come in for tutoring as soon as they return to school to insure understanding of missed concepts.
LATEWORK:
There is none. (i.e. I DON’T ACCEPT LATE WORK, PERIOD, DON’T ASK)
MAKE-UP WORK:
Lab – Arrangement for time must be made with me.
Quizzes & Exams – Arrangement for time must be made with me.
TUTORIALS:
Tutorials only work if a student comes in for them. If a student does not understand something we did in class or gets confused when doing their homework, they should come in for tutoring before the next class period.
I will not provide extra copies of worksheets during tutorial, so bring your own.

► All quizzes and exams are kept in my room after being handed back for students to look over and record their grades.
► Any student can come into my room before school to re-work a quiz or exam to determine what they did wrong. This is strictly for their benefit and will not be given extra-credit for coming in.
Please call me at (405)735-4800 or e-mail me if you have any questions regarding your child’s progress in this course. I will respond as soon as possible. You should also be receiving a progress report for each to communicate you child’s progress.
Thank you for supporting your child’s effort in this class. Success in this course depends on your child completing all assigned homework, bringing their textbook to every class, good class attendance and attention to class instruction. Please sign below indicating you have read this handout. A separate lab safety sheet will also require you signature.
I look forward to teaching your child.
