STAGG FALL SPORTS 2016-17

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

In order to participate in Athletics at Stagg, each athlete must receive clearance from the Athletic Director’s Office. To be cleared for participation, the following items must be on file:

  1. In order for a student-athlete to participate in tryouts, they must have a current physical (within the last 13 months) on file with the athletic office. Incoming freshmen can use their incoming school physical for freshmen year.
  2. All parents of student athletes must complete the on-line registration @
  3. On-line registration will open the beginning of July.
  4. All returning students must have passed 25 hours of work in the semester prior to competition.

Due to liability concerns and I.H.S.A. regulations, no student will be allowed to participate in athletics unless the on-line registration process is completed and a current physical is on file.

On-line registration will open midJuly.

FOOTBALL

Our official first practice will be onAugust 8th.Parents need to make sure that the registration process for their student(s) is completed on stagg.8to18.com. All participants must have a current physical (incoming freshmen can use their school physical). They will not be allowed to participate without it. Times for practice starting onAugust 8thfor each level will be as follows:

Varsity/Sophomore–8am – 12pm.

Freshmen – 8am – 12pm.

All participants need to meet by the team locker room @ 8am. Please use the S4 or N1 entrance. Bring clothes to workout in, a snack and water.

BOYS AND GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Girls and Boys Cross Country will host its first practice on Wednesday, August 10th at 8:00am. We will meet on campus at door S4. Parents need to make sure that the registration process for their student(s) is completed. All participants must have a current physical (incoming freshmen can use their school physical). They will not be allowed to participate without it. Athletes should come ready to run wearing appropriate attire and shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a sports watch with a timing feature. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Tryouts for the 2016 volleyball program will take place onWednesday, August 10th. VARSITY: 8am-12pm. Bring outdoor and indoor shoes. FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORES: 8am-11am. All tryouts will take place in the north gym. GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in joining the varsity or frosh/soph Swimming or Diving team on Wednesday, August 10th, 8am to 10am at the pool. There will be a short team meeting and then practice. On Thursday the 11th and Friday the 12th practices will be from 7am – 9am. All freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior girls who canswim at least 50 yards or dive are invited. If you have any questions, contact Coach Nagle at

BOYS SOCCER

Boys interested in trying out for Boys’ Soccer will meet onWednesday, August 10thfrom 7:30am – 10:00 AND 11:30 – 1:30 on the stadium turf. You must attend both sessions, please bring a lunch. Athletes will need soccer cleats, running shoes, shin guards, socks and plenty of water. GIRLS TENNIS

All levels of Girls Tennis tryouts will be on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, August 10th, 11th & 12thfrom9:00am- 11:00am. All freshmen are welcome, experienced or not. We will teach you how to play the game of tennis. Please wear athletic attire and gym shoes. Bring your own racquet if you have one.If you have any questions, please contact John Daniels . GIRLS GOLF

Girls Golf will meet on Wednesday, August 10th and Thursday, August 11th from8:30am to 10:30am at Water’s Edge Golf Course on Harlem Ave. in Worth for tryouts. Please dress in proper golf attire and bring your golf clubs with you to tryouts. All freshmen girls that are interested in golf are invited to attend. Varsity Boys Golf tryouts will be Wednesday, August 10th at Palos Municipal Golf Course in Palos Hills @8:00amandThursday, August 11that Hickory Hills Country Club (95th & Roberts Road) @ 8:00am. Please bring $15.00 for green fees each day.

Freshman/Sophomore Boys Golf tryoutswill be Wednesday, August 10th and Thursday, August 11th at Hickory HillsCountry Club (95th & Roberts Road) @ 8:00am. Please bring $10.00 for green fees each day.
