Presidents Report:

-No full ice for mites next year at all

-Peewee level- next year roughing and body checking will be considered aggressive penalties for WNY

-Forfeitures- currently it is a $500 fine, but something else needs to be done, it’s too cheap, and too many teams are just paying the fine and skipping games. There is a possibility of sanctioning teams or removing them from the league.

- Also too many parents are skipping the chain of command and calling Colorado directly (USA Hockey Headquarters) Things need to go properly through the correct channels if there is an issue.

- AAU will be a big topic next year (associations that register a team with AAU and also are USA Hockey affiliated.) The repercussions will likely be greater next year.

-  Brian Cersosimo is working on a contract for us.

-  Weight room is going to go also, in its place they will be laying down the synthetic ice and it will be a shooting gallery.

-  Brian is also working on a summer program from April 15- Aug 15 will be the lowest price for ice.

VP Travel Report:

-Great tournament, Good job Russ!!
-Ted will take over the pre-ordering for the tournament t-shirts next year; this should help things run even smoother next year.

-Laker teams will need to pay to participate in the tournament next year, volunteers especially to run the clock were hard to come by this year. If all Laker teams pay to play, we can pay hourly for the clock, score sheet, bake sale etc, and still have money left over.

-Ted has a partial schedule for the state tournaments in March.

-Saturday at 7:00 p.m. the new Jr. team will be on the ice practicing if anyone would like to watch. Team will be a Junior C team in the NAHL.

VP House:

-  Kids had fun at the home tournament last weekend

-  Wants to know about medals for the ADM Marlene Sirianno makes a motion to give him $250.00 for medals, Marcia Carlson seconds it, all approve yes.

Registrar’s Report: nothing new

Treasurer’s Report:

Greg Noon makes a motion that any individual team fundraisers will not be run through the association any more, but that individual team fundraiser do need approval of the board and it needs to be written request to the board. Also any team needing a check for tournament fees will need to give a two-week notice and must submit a written request to treasurer for the check. Marlene Sirianno seconds the motion and all approve.

-Ice fees must be paid to PO Box or pay pal account, no giving money or checks to managers or leaving at the rink etc.

Coaching Coordinator: nothing new

New Business:

-Coaching coordinator will form a committee to review coaching applications and recommend coaching positions to board for approval

-March 7th is the date for all coaching applications to be turned in by

-All applications should go to Bud Tomassi or the PO box

Tryouts

-All teams will have a 2 night try out with the option to cancel the 2nd night if it is not needed.

-Tryouts will be the week of April 7th; they will be a 65-minute ice slot

-Tryouts will be held and players will be evaluated by uniform skill measures and the head coach will have the final say on who makes the team.

-Peewees- the 2nd peewee team will be too strong to be a MOHL team next year, Janice will not allow it, there fore it will likely be two travel teams with only the first team being state bound.

Elections and Annual Meeting- will be held March 19th at 6:30 p.m. at JSBIA

-  Positions up on the board are President, House/ADM Coordinator, Treasurer, Registrar, and Ice Coordinator
