Chateau Mcely is the former rural manor of the Thurn-Taxis aristocracy. Chateau Mcely is situated in the midst of the magical St. George Forest, high on a hill with breath-taking vistas, just an hour’s drive (55 km) from the centre of Prague in the direction of Mladá Boleslav, and in the heart of old Central Europe.
We have 23 individual rooms and suites, each with its own style and name, elegant castle halls, and our gourmet restaurant Piano Nobile, which is currently among the ten best restaurants in the Czech Republic according to Maurer's Grand Restaurant Guide 2011. Enjoy your gastronomic experience among endless vistas of the valleys below on our covered out-door patio, or perhaps sip one of our original elixirs in the Alchymist Club in our 17th century wine cellar. You might put yourself in the capable hands of our therapists at Mcely Spa with its spacious, creatively-designed, private, therapeutic suites, or visit Studiolo, our “little library” on the top floor of the tower, or our rooftop astronomical observatory. During the day, enjoy a picnic in our scenic 5-hectare English park, and a variety of activities such as a romantic trip in an open horse-drawn carriage, cycling, tennis, swimming and croquet.
Chateau Mcely was the first-place winner for the 2006 “Best of Realty” award for sensitive reconstruction of a devastated castle. It is a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Chateau Mcely recently won an award, “Best Experiential Photograph” in an international competition encompassing more than 70 countries and 480 hotels from Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
In 2007, Chateau Mcely became the first five-star “green” and eco chic hotel in the Czech Republic – and only the second one in the entire European Union. Chateau Mcely was a winner of the 2008 World Travel Awards, and was voted the “World’s Leading Green Hotel.”
Mcely Spa
Mcely Spa was created gradually over a period of six years within sensitive reconstruction of the chateau and its adjacent English park. Its uniqueness consists of the interconnection of interior and exterior spaces such that the entire chateau complex actually “becomes a healing spa.” Spacious private therapeutic suites named Honey, Silk and Pearls offer arelaxing and inspiring environment for an exceptional spa experience. You can enjoy your therapy in either the chateau (Pearls), on the highest floor of the tower (Silk), or in the chateau’s park near the natural swimming lake (Honey). All three suites are designed so that couples can have their therapies together. The English park also includes an outdoor Jacuzzi, a small sauna building, a natural swimming lake; a multifunctional sports ground and a specially-designed natural course for cardiovascular and muscular fitness.
Mcely Bouquet
This pure natural and organic range of Mcely Bouquet cosmetics was developed by Chateau Mcely’s owner, Inéz Cusumano, with the intention of sharing the alchemical and herbal heritage, and natural healing energy, located in the very heart of Bohemia. To offer a healing experience on both the physical and emotional level, similar to that available to guests during their stay at Chateau Mcely, Mcely Bouquet has been created for brief but effective ritual treatments at home.
