Job Description

Job Title: Donor Relations Coordinator

Department: Development

Reports To: Donor Relations and Communications Manager

Summary

The Donor Relations Coordinator provides support for the Office of Donor Relations and Communications and is responsible for day-to-day gift processing/receipting, donor stewardship, and the cultivation strategy for several particular groups of donors (new donors, lapsing donors, monthly donors, middle donors). This person will provide excellent customer service to our mission donors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Open all CRM mail each morning and prepare batches to be scanned.
  2. Responsible for day-to-day oversight of gift processing and data entry activities, ensuring accurate processing of checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers; work closely with Accounting Department to process and balance all donations.
  3. Accurately use data entry protocols to enter records of donors acquired by CRM into the Raiser’s Edge database and make address changes as needed.
  4. Work with Donor Relations and Communications team to steward donors (tele-thank you program, new donor bonding, donor retention, lapsed donor strategy, honor/memorial gifts, etc.).
  5. Oversee Friends with a Mission program for monthly donors with the goal of growing the number of donors, automating as many as possible, and providing special communications and/or events for these donors.
  6. Responsible for the thank you and receipting process for regular gifts and major gifts, including letters, receipts, and phone calls, and monthly Circle of Giving letters.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to donors by returning phone calls and emails promptly.
  8. Train and supervise office volunteers assisting in Donor Relations activities.
  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/ or ability required.

Knowledge: Associate’s degree and two years’ work experience or four year college degree

Work experience in church or non-profit setting preferred

Skill: Working knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge

Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems

Proficient in Microsoft Windows work environment and Microsoft Office

Proficiency with basic accounting principles

Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills

Strong self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work as a team member

Commitment to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records

Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills, both written and oral

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions

Ability: Must be able to spend the majority of time sitting, speaking, listening, or writing

Must be able to lift 40 pounds
