Charlie Irvine – Visiting Professor

Charlie Irvine has developed Strathclyde Law School’sMSc in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, on which he is Course Leader, and teaches the Elective in Mediation and Mediation Advocacy to PEAT1 students at both Strathclyde and Edinburgh Law Schools. His academic work is concerned with the role of alternative dispute resolution within the justice system and in legal education. In 2010 he was lead author of a literature review for the Health Professions Council which has informed its policy on the use of mediation for complaints against health professionals. He is Visiting Professor at Strathclyde Law School and Adjunct Professor at John Marshall Law School (Chicago), for whom he developed theirInternational Summer School in Mediation. He is also an experienced mediator with a practice including commercial, employment and family disputes. Charlie is a trustee andpast Chair of the Scottish Mediation Network.
