Please understand that this is a new year and while we are all excited, we are trying hard to conduct this season to the best of our abilities. Please understand that this is a learning experience for everyone. If you have a question, concern, or suggestion, please bring it to a coach and we will address it then. If we do not know the answer, we will find out as soon as we can and get back with you. It is our goal to build this program for your children so that they may have the opportunity to do something they truly enjoy.

Dear Parents,

Please allow us to take a moment and answer a few basic questions that have been brought to our attention.

  1. Why do archery practices seemed unorganized?

Archery practices are organized events that now the team has been established will allow more one-on-one interaction. Please do not compare the open shoot days with practices. Please allow us the chance to fine tune shooting stances and technique in an effort to allow your child to be the best at what they enjoy.

  1. Why are we only practicing once or twice a week when other schools practice more?

Please understand that the archery program is being scheduled around other school activities such as baseball, softball, tennis, track, drama, choir, and band. We are doing the best that we can.

  1. Why do we practice directly afterschool? Last year we started at 5:00pm?

As explained above, the coaches have prior commitments. While I have the same bus route as I had last year, I currently have someone else driving so that I can be here after school. It was the best fit for this season. I the situation changes so will practice days and times.

  1. Why are we not having an archery meet at Lewisburg?

There are three schools in Desoto County hosting archery meets this year. They are Center Hill, Lake Cormorant, and Hernando. Archery coaches meet during last season and established a schedule to take into account the 6 county teams.

  1. Can I let my child drive to or from the competition?

As with any event at LHS, participating athletes are not able to drive themselves to or from an event. With exception from a principal and advanced notice to the coaches, an athlete may be allowed to be driven to an event by their parent/legal guardian only. Once there, they will follow all transport rules as established in the initial athlete agreement.
