TheCSOwebsiteiscomingalongwell.Theresahashelpedroundup,typeanduploadmostofthemissingmeetingminutesforthearchive. SheandKeesjehaveuploadedseveralnewpicturestothewebsite(somearenotdisplayingcorrectlyandwillbefixed).Pleasesendyourpicturetooneofthemifyouwouldlikeitincludedinthebannerorasktohaveyourpicturetaken.

PresidentFernándezisinfullsupportoftheBeautificationDayproposedearlierintheyear.Charityhasbeenaskedtoleadtheorganizationoftheeventandoutlineongoingparticipation. PLEASEvolunteertohelp. ShewillneedtocoordinatewithPSO,ASLCSCandotherinterestedpartiesaswellaswithMattGravesregardingdesignatedareas,resourceavailabilityandpotentiallyprocuringplaques.PresidentFernándezplansonattendingourFebruaryCSOmeetingtohearourplans.

LCSChaswelcomed15newclassifiedemployeesthisyear.Pleasesayhelloandvolunteertobeamentorifyoucan.

Uponrequest,CSOmemberrecentlycontributedtheiropinionstotherevisionoftheSmokingPolicyoncampus. Ultimately,12saidtheywouldpreferanon-smokingcampusand27preferredhavingadesignatedareaontheperipheryofcampus.Foursaidtheywouldn’tchangethepolicy,butwewereaskedourpreferenceofthefirsttwooptions.CharilyreportedtheseresultstothePresident’sCouncilon11/7/12andsharedsomeofthemembers’comments:

TheBylawscommitteehasmadeseveralchangesincludingsomethatwerenevervotedonlastyearandsomespecificationsofprocedures. Thememberspresentvotedtoapprovethechanges. InthefutureGeneralMembershipvotescanbeheldelectronicallytoallowmorememberstoparticipate.

TheRecognitionCommitteemetonAugust13thandSept14th.ItwasdecidedatthesemeetingstoraffleoffaKindleFireHDalongwithourannualbookandmediasaleANDtohaveasecondbooksaleofnewbookscalledBooksareFun. EveryonevotedtodoBooksareFunbecauseanoutsidevendorsetupandsoldeverythingforusandCSOmembersdidnothavetodonatetimetothesale. Wereceived10%ofthetotalsales.Thankyoutoeveryonewhomadeallthesefundraiserssuccessful.TheholidayCaramelsaleandSantaLettersaredoingwellandhavenooverheadthisyear.TherearestillCSOCookbooks.IfanyonewouldliketopurchaseonepleasecontactTheresaChrisman.CSOdonatedagiftbaskettoWinterRevelsfilledwithitemsdonatedbyCSOmembersandpurchasedwiththeirdonations.

NewBusiness:

ItwasproposedthatthemoneytheCSOspendsonbirthdaypresentsforitsmemberscouldbeusedforcharityinstead.Perhapswecandonatemorefrequentlytolocalfoodbanksorrotatedonationstofoodbanksinoutlyingareas.Thisissuewillbeputoutforanelectronicvoteaftertheholidays.

Severaldoorprizesweregivenoutincludingleftoverlunchbagsandcoffeecupbirthdaygiftsfrompreviousyears,$5giftcertificatestoJitterzandfilledcandybowls.
