Charitable Request for Proposal

2017

Mission Statement

Capital for Kids is a network of individuals and organizations involved in and supporting the investment management business dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. Capital for Kids supports organizations that educate, protect and encourage the development of at-risk children in the North Texas area, and we also raise awareness of children in need of support. We believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed.

History of Organization

Capital for Kids was originally involved with the national Hedge Fund Cares organization from 2003 to 2004. However, in order to broaden our giving base to include other non-hedge fund firms in the local investment community, we amicably disassociated with Hedge Fund Cares in 2005. As a result the percentage of money raised going directly to our local charities has significantly increased. We have raised and distributed over $12,000,000 to North Texas agencies in our 12 year history.

We have grown our Community Engagement volunteer initiative. Its mission is to organize volunteer opportunities for the employees of our sponsoring firms. We have the ability to give so much more than just dollars to our grant recipients. We give human capital as well, whether it is manual labor on a clean-up project, membership on a board of directors or advisory help with budgeting, marketing or public relations.

All agencies must complete the attached grant application and provide all information described hereinin both electronic and hard copy form. Proposals will be reviewed by our grant committee and may include a site visit.
