A Greek scientific foundation is interested in developing an information literacy model for teachers and students of secondary education, utilizing modern educational principles in the environment of a library. The foundation is interested in ERASMUS+, KA2 call. The foundation is looking for 1) library department in University or science museum and 2) Pedagogical department of University or R&D institutions from Portugal, Spain, Estonia, Turkey, Italy, United Kingdom.
Description of the R&D project(100-4.000characters):
A very well established Greek scientific foundation, with more than 60 years of experience, is interested in the ERASMUS+, KA2 call for proposals. The Greek foundation aim to develope an information literacy model for teachers and students of secondary education, utilizing modern educational principles (e.g. inquiry based learning, constructivism etc.) in the environment of a library.
Trigger for tabling this proposal is the expressed need of teachers of secondary education to enhance the development of information literacy skills of themselves and their students. Within the proposal is presented an innovative plan of developing an information literacy model in order to meet these needs. The proposal designs activities that foster the involvement of teachers, students and librarians in the field of information literacy. The core of the proposal is the teacher, training on subjects about research with the use of library and the training of librarians on new pedagogical methods. Through the training of teachers we will reach students in secondary education. During the activities (both formal and informal) will be used to introduce information literacy in various contexts. The main activities will include requirement analysis and strategic model design, development of a knowledge-sharing network with stakeholders, training, and development of educational training material, pilots and outreach program.
