Instructions: For each of these assignments that you are to complete:
- You are to create a Unit 2 Ethics and the Law Folder.
- Then, inside the Unit 2 folder, create another folder and name it Chapter 5 Civil Law and Procedure. Save all assignments in this folder.
- Save each document with the name as indicated so that you will be able to find your assignments.
- Refer back to the book pages for the Chapter, PowerPoint slides or google to find what you need to complete each assignment.
- Pay close attention to the due dates and Utilize your time wisely!!!
- Various handouts (quizzes) will be given throughout the unit.

Assignment #1 Tagxedo
Go to www.tagxedo.com and create a word cloud and include at least 20 terms or words regarding Civil Law and Procedure. Include your first and last name in the cloud as well. You may want to type it at least 3 times so that it will appear larger in the word cloud. The easiest way to save the tagxedo is to enlarge the new window to fill the entire screen. Press the PrtScn key on your keyboard. This grabs a copy of your entire screen, menus and all. Paste into Word, and use the Crop Tool to remove any unwanted parts from around the tagxedo. Save the document as Tagxedo Civil Law. This assignment is due on Monday, December 5, 2016.
Assignment # 2 Graphic Organizer Elements of Torts
In a word document, create a graphic organizer that list the four elements of torts. In the center of your graphic organizer, you should name Elements of Torts. You are to include at least one relevant picture in your document. Save the document as GO Elements of Torts. This assignment is due on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
Assignment # 3 Graphic Organizer Duties to Respect Rights of Others
In a word document, create a graphic organizer that list the three duties that you have with the respect to the rights of others according to the law. In the center of your graphic organizer, you should name Respect the Rights of Others. You are to include at least one relevant picture in your document. Save the document as GO Respect Others. This assignment is due on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
Assignment #4 Common Intentional Torts Newsletter
There are 9 common intentional torts: assault, battery, false imprisonment, defamation, invasion of privacy, trespass to land, conversion, interference with contractual relations, and fraud. You are to create a newsletter listing and describing each of these. You are to also include at least 2 relevant graphics. The newsletter should be in two columns. You are also to include the title and your name. Save the document as Common Torts Newsletter. This assignment is due on Friday, December 9, 2016.

Assignment #5 Graphic Organizer Steps in a Civil Lawsuit (this one will count as a quiz)
In a word document, create a graphic organizer listing the steps/procedures of what takes place in a civil lawsuit from the filing of the complaint to the execution of the judgment (Section 5-3). Save the document as GO civil lawsuit. This assignment is due on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
Assignment #6 Negligence Newsletter
Create an informative newsletter regarding what constitutes negligence. You can title the newsletter Negligence- Did You Know? And your first and last name as the author. You are to define negligence and discuss at least 7 interesting facts about negligence. You must also include a famous person that was convicted of negligence (O.J. Simpson) or you may use a scenario to describe negligence. You must include at least 2 clip art graphics in the newsletter. The newsletter should be at least 1 page and have at least two columns. Save the document as negligence newsletter. This assignment is due on Friday, January 6, 2017.
Assignment #7 Civil Law and Procedure Review
You are to create a PowerPoint presentation entitled “Civil and Procedure Law Review. Each slide should have the following questions below and you are to provide an answer for each. Utilize the presentation I have provided for you on the website; this will assist you tremendously. The presentation must contain at least 6 relevant clip art graphics, transition, and a theme. The presentation must be at least 15 slides. Type the questions and answer the following:
Slide 1: Name of Presentation, your name and class period
Slide 2: What is the difference between assault and battery?
Slide 3: Define invasion of privacy. Give an example of invasion of privacy?
Slide 4: What is the duty imposed by negligence?
Slide 5: Name and define at least 3 common intentional torts?
Slide 6: What are the four elements of a tort?
Slide 7: How do Crimes and torts differ?
Slide 8: What are the elements of negligence?
Slide 9: What are the basis for strict liability?
