Turkey vs. Iran When Clyde and Shirin were missionaries in Turkey in the late 80’s, there were 50 known Turkish believers from a Muslim background. In Iran there were at most a few thousand Iranian believers from a Muslim background prior to the Iranian revolution in 1979. While almost identical in population today (75 million), the church in Turkey has grown to 5,000 believers while the church in Iran has exploded to between 500,000 to 1.5 million.

Why such a difference? 1. God’s sovereignty. 2. The theocratic government of Iran has shown the true nature of Islam to its people and many are searching for truth elsewhere. Turkey has had a much more open parliamentary form of government, though the government has become much more religious in the last 10 years. In both countries, media has played a big role in exposing the population to the Gospel.

Matching Fund

To move forward with this vision, we are trusting God for foundation grants of $60,000.For the remaining $40,000, we are asking the Lord to provide a $20,000 matching fund by October 31, 2015. The Visual Story Network will leverage this fund in the November and December to encourage current and potential ministry partners to invest in this strategy.

At this time your strategic investment of $1000, $1500, $2000or $2500 toward the $20,000 matching fund would be used by Visual Story Network to train thousands in visual story for the kingdom of God. Matching fund pledges will be requested in proportion to the percentage of the funds used (e.g. if 90% of matching fund pledges are used, 90% of the matching fund pledge is requested at year-end).
