JOB TITLE: ACADEMIC COACH for Federal Programs with emphasis on Technology
SALARY RANGE: CERTIFIED SALARY SCHEDULE PLUS 13-20 Extra Compensation Days
General Description
The Federal Programs Technology Integration Specialist/Coach provides training and support to teachers in grades K-12, Title I and other select schools and facilitates the effective use of technological tools that lead to increased student achievement and development of 21st Century technology skills.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in K-12 education
- Master’s Degree in Education
- Supervisory or Principal certificate preferred
- Highly qualified in a content area preferred
- Recognized as a successful teacher
Duties and Responsibilities
· Forms of Instruction:
- With teachers in computer lab setting
- With teachers using portable labs
- With teachers in small groups to assist in developing and implementing multimedia/technology projects
- With teachers for instruction on specific applications and appropriate integration techniques of those applications
- With teachers to assist with instructional technology and 21st Century classroom resources
- With administrators in utilizing assessments (to include Federal Programs data points: DIBLES, Star Math, Read Naturally....etc…) and information resources
- Professional Development classes at District and site level for CUSD staff
· Manage technology user issues/applications/equipment required for staff to complete their jobs in Federal Programs required interventions:
· DIBLES, Star Math, Accelerated Math, Math In a Flash, Read Naturally: problems, questions, training, support, administration
· Training on use of new/updated technology for Pilot purposes
· Liaison for Student Information System attendance and Infinite Campus gradebook problems/questions
· Application problems/questions related to Federal Program users
· Network problems/questions including staff accounts and system setup and use
· Actively assess and monitor teacher and campus technology needs
· Network Technician at Title I schools
§ Troubleshooting technology issues
§ Liaison/Maintenance of school workgroups
§ Assist and train teachers in required routine technology tasks
§ Assist with training for routine software upgrades
§ Assist with training for new software additions
§ Assist teachers with maintenance and troubleshooting of all computers including mobile labs and laptops
§ Assist Network Department with training needs and materials
§ Act as a Liaison between Curriculum Department, Technology Services Department and other school personnel
· Curriculum Integration
· Create and distribute training materials to campuses
· Develop and implement technology strategies supporting Chandler Unified School District curriculum
· Assist teachers in creating an environment that develops 21st Century technology skills (including electronic programs such as Virtual Classroom, Google Docs, etc…)
· Model, demonstrate and facilitate appropriate use of technology that assists teachers with moving their practice forward and improving student achievement
· Collaborate with staff to develop lessons for technology integration
· Develop methods to promote teacher collaboration within the District on 21st Century skills/curriculum/projects
· Create and maintain a District site for technology resource collections and information (e.g. Virtual Classroom, Edmodo… etc..)

§ Communicate with administrators about campus technology trends and training needs
§ Assist with grant writing where technology is an intended purchase with technology funds
