CALL TO ORDER
Chair Notbohm called the meeting to order 2:30 p.m.

Motion (Tucker/Maguire) to approve revised agenda dated December 20, 2016. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Motion (Cuzzo/Jones) to approve minutes dated November 15, 2016. Motion carried.

Motion (Cuzzo/Magure) to approve Executive minutes dated November 8, 2016. Motion carried.

REPORTS

Chancellor - No report

Provost
Brief update of the latest budget information.
Faculty Senate Chair
Notbohm- Update cabinet meeting - Campus emergency plan discussed, continued discussing diversity book reading. Final TER training January 13. A welcome week governance meeting may be scheduled to discuss ongoing issues.

Faculty Senate Secretary - No report
Faculty Representative
Sloboda provided a report of the BOR meeting and the Faculty Rep meeting. PTR continues to be discussed, conceal and carry bill may be coming back for discussion. The tuition taskforce has completed the information gathering phase. Discussion of individual chancellor’s deciding tuition took place, phasing out differential tuition was also discussed. BOR has a taskforce in regard to Violence and Harassment training, now in phase one of policy, Pay plan discussed, committee is not faculty only. Written report provided.
Faculty SPCT Representative
Hembd-Update provided. Procedures are falling into place, the process works better if there is money on the table. This year non- academic units were included, process worked well. A new summary has been shared with the campus. Four funding areas are separate from the budget:
classroom technology, professional development, facility improvements and workstudy/student employee.

Academic Program Review Council - No report

Graduate Council
Paul – Minimum teaching qualifications and graduate faculty status were topics at the last meeting.

Personnel Council - No Report

Planning and Budgetary Council - Agenda item

Undergraduate Academic Affairs– Agenda item

Academic Staff Senate
Zobel-minimum qualification standards discussed and passed.

University Staff Senate - No report

Student Government Association (SGA) - No report

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Faculty Senate Constitution and Bylaws Review
    Discussion in regard to aligning Constitution and Bylaws, review of attached documents, what is the role of the senator at large? The revised document will sent to department chairs then to senators for department discussion. Document to be reviewed campus wide then to councils. February full senate old business item. (Thank you to Kronzer, Gard and Kropid for their work.)
  2. Updated Post Tenure Review Policy (sent previously as attachment 5)
    Motion (Sloboda/Kronzer) to approve the revised Post Tenure Policy for the University of Wisconsin, Superior. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Budget Recommendations from PBC
    Motion (Cuzzo/Kropid) to receive the Budget Recommendations from the Planning and Budgetary Council. Motion carried.
  2. New Academic Review Schedule from the Provost
    Motion (Cuzzo/Nikoi) to approve the New Academic Review Schedule. Discussion. Motion carried.
  3. HBJD Criminal Justice Paralegal Certificate from UAAC
    Motion (Cuzzo/Kronzer) to approve the HBJD Criminal Justice Paralegal Certificate. Motion carried.
  4. HHP and WITC WTCS Articulation Agreement from UAAC
    Motion (Nikoi/Kronzer) to approve the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Nursing Program (Nursing) Associate of Applied Science Degree to the University of Wisconsin (UW-S) Health and Human Performance Community/Public Health Promotion Bachelor’s Degree. Motion carried.
  5. HHP and ARCC Articulation Agreement from UAAC
    Motion (Cuzzo/Sloboda) to approve thetransfer of credits from Anoka-RamseyCommunity College Community Health Associate of Arts to the University of Wisconsin-Superior Health and Human Performance Community/Public Health Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts Degree. Motion carried.
  6. WRIT and ARCC Articulation Agreement from UAAC
    Motion (Cuzzo/Sloboda) to approve the Articulation Agreement for transfer of credits between Anoka-Ramsey Community College Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and the University of Wisconsin-Superior Bachelor of Arts Degree in Writing. Motion carried
  7. Marketing Minor from UAAC
    Motion (Nikoi/Cuzzo) to approve the School of Business Marketing Minor.
    Motion carried.
