ASAP / PI / PI creates CFI portfolio via
(CFI online) and contactsRound Coordinator to discuss application process and budget preparation. Guidelines and instructions and tips to prepare the application are available upon request.
All applicants must complete a ResearchEquipment and Space Needs Assessment Form (please request)and return it to ISI Office at least 4 months prior to submission.
If you are planning CFI-funded renovation/construction:
On campus: complete and return signed form to ISI Office4 months prior to submission deadline  this will be used to launch the renovation process with Facilities.
Located at a Hospital: please contact your renovation facilities manager to obtain an estimate.
ASAP / PI / PI develops application modules off-line, consulting with mentor (Chair or Unit Director and Associate Dean - Research as necessary). ISI resource documents are available on request.
JANUARY5th / PI / PI e-mails completed Budget Builder + draft budget justification for equipment + quotesto ISI Office for technical review.
Note that ISI can prepare the budget builder for you. Make sure to highlight the equipment & accessories selected on the quotes.
JANUARY 16th / PI / PI posts application module texts on-line and e-mails complete draft in Word to ISI Office (+ cc to mentor) for review and feedback.PI enters project information in the online Quebec submission portal (SiiR,
No later than
JANUARY 30th / ISI / ISI returns review and feedback comments to PI on all LOF Application modules.
FEB 10th / PI / PIensures that the final revised versions are posted on the CFI and Quebec portals.
PI toggles “completed” button to “YES”on the CFI portal.
Application to be modified only by ISI from this point onward.
FEB 12th
(before 5pm) / PI / PI obtains signatures on theLOF Submission Checklist(ISI will provide a completed draft checklist).
PI or delegate emailsa scannedversion of the signed LOF Submission Checklisttothe ISI Office and sends an original copy by campus mail.
ISI ensures that electronic signatures for the online Quebec form are obtained. For hospital-based projects, both campus and hospital signatures are required.
ISI will print the complete application as uploaded.
By FEB15th / ISI / ISI obtains the Institution’s signature for the main applicationand submits on-line to CFI and Quebec and mails via courier to CFI and Quebec.
