JOB TITLE
CET Community Connector (District of Mole Valley)
JOB PURPOSE
To act as an information exchange facilitator, between voluntary, community, faith and statutory sectors for the people of Mole Valley. Keeping up to date and extending the knowledge and information of services and activities following the report ‘Care Connections’ and providing a central resource for those seeking to identify the most appropriate service.
ACCOUNTABILITY / LINE MANAGEMENT
The Care Connections Coordinator will be part of the Communities Engagement Team and line-managed by the Partnership Development Co-ordinator.
TASKS
- To maintain and extend the database set up at the time of the report ‘Care Connections’ in order to provide a single central point of reference for services and activities for people across the District
- Draw together a steering group of key representatives of services and activities in order to develop best practice and collaboration across the District
- Develop a system of referral to be adopted in relation to this project
- Monitor requests for services and activities and highlight issues and address these as appropriate
- Encourage the development especially of befriending and ‘good neighbour’ schemes in order to enable local community support where possible
- Promote and provide information about this collaborative style of working across the Districtand ensure close working with developments within the local authority including the emergence of social care ‘hubs’
- As part of the Communities Engagement Team (CET) ensure close liaison with colleagues in order to ensure a holistic picture of developments across the District are maintained and that developments within the Team ensure the best possible outcomes for Mole Valley
- Work closely with the Partnership Development Co-ordinator (line-manager) in order to refine best practice, identify opportunities and ensure policies in relation to safeguarding, risk, etc are fulfilled
- Undertake any other reasonable requests made by the Director of the CET in relation to this work
Work hours
This Post is for 3 days per week, working times by agreement. You must be willing to work occasionally at weekends/ outside standard office hours.
Office
Based between Park House in Leatherhead, The Fairfield Centre (Wellbeing Centre) in Leatherhead and Pippbrook (MVDC council offices) in Dorking
Dress Code
The majority of staff will not need any guidance on appropriate dress for work. However there have been occasions when people have got it wrong and caused offence to colleagues and customers, so the guidance below is provided for reference.
Please think about whether you look professional, particularly if you are dealing with members of the public. Please consider your work for the day and whether you have any external meetings. Please be considerate towards your colleagues and customers in the way you dress. They may feel uncomfortable or be distracted if you have too much flesh on show.
Guidance:
In the event of an employee coming to work inappropriately dressed, the line-manager will have a word with them. To help staff who want more clarity on what sort of clothing might be considered inappropriate, here are some examples that have previously led to complaints:
- Cropped tops or hipster skirts/trousers
- Low cut tops
- Slogan or cartoons on items of clothing
- Jeans – when working outside of the office environment
