Position Description: Project Manager – Disability Justice Project

Full Time (35 hours per week), fixed term contract

A key component of ACWA’s/CCWT’s work is the provision of comprehensive learning and development services, including nationally recognised training and assessment services, to the community services sector in NSW.

ACWA is currently the lead agency in the Disability Justice Project, which aims to develop the capacity of the disability and related sectors in ensuring that people with a cognitive disability are supported in receiving their rights when in contact with the justice system. This role is the Project Manager.

A flexible and cooperative workplace is encouraged. The Director, Learning and Development reserves the right to vary the duties in consultation with staff in response to the needs of ACWA/CCWT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the Disability Justice Project
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure that project deliverables are fulfilled within time and budget expectations
  • Provide oversight and supervision of staff in relation to their duties for the Project
  • Evaluation of project deliverables and outcomes
  • Reporting to funding body

Selection Criteria: Qualifications, skills and/or experience required

Essential

  • Previous experience managing a complex project, with multiple deliverables
  • Able to build effective working relationships with partner organisations, Steering Committee and other stakeholders
  • Able to balance competing expectations and requirements and negotiate acceptable solutions
  • Resource management, including external third party vendors and contractors
  • Able to maintain a strategic oversight and also work with the details
  • Applies attention to detail and thoroughness to achieve quality work
  • Responds flexibly and appropriately to unforseen circumstances and situations
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance/supervision

Desirable

  • Experience with the development, delivery and evaluation of training projects
  • Experience in the disability sector, NGO community services and/or government

Terms and conditions of employment at ACWA/CCWT are outlined in the ACWA Guide, with minimum terms and conditions as per the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHCADS).

Full time position (35 hours per week)

Flexible work hours available in negotiation with Director, CCWT.

  • Classification:

Social, Community and Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Social and Community Services Employee Level 7

  • Salary:

Salary range is above the Award rate

Base salary negotiable from $72,000dependent on qualifications and experience

+ 9.5% superannuation

+ leave loading of 17.5% on accrued annual leave

+ salary packaging ($16,050 per annum), with resulting tax benefits

+ meal entertainment claim back of up to $5,000 per annum (subject to change), with resulting tax benefits

  • Fixed term contact until 30th June 2017.
