7. Tastes – Snapshot

·  EO presented an overview of Tastes data to date. Key points to note:

-  Individual Activities – 639 (107 unique)

-  Participating Businesses – 114

-  Participants to date – 22,526

Discussion:

·  This year’s program saw the highest number of sold out events with some businesses adding additional sessions to cater for demand.

·  The participation numbers overall will be lower than last year due to no large scale events being delivered in Lt Malop St West as a result of revitalisation works in that area and Waterfront Makers & Growers Market fell outside of Tastes dates.

·  Feedback from guided tours has been extremely positive with the new addition of Eat the Street a great success. EO to liaise with BI in relation to this event being offered in conjunction with MFWF.

·  Mixed reviews received for the self-guided tours due to inconsistent offerings from participating businesses and the expectation of returning participants.

·  Excellent media editorials received throughout this event along with significant social media coverage.

·  High tea at the Pier with Stephanie Alexander was a sell out with excellent feedback received from participants. Will review guest presenter for future events with a view to making the event even bigger.

·  BI suggested Matt Preston was brilliant at the Grampians Grape Escape and would be worth considering in an attempt to broaden the market.

·  Feedback from several businesses who participated in Tastes has been very positive indicating attendance to their events was solely due to the promotion and marketing by CGM

Action:

EO to present full evaluation of Tastes at September committee meeting

EO to liaise with BI in relation to MFWF

EO to commence investigation of options for feature personalities at 2018 event.
