Central Facilities - Policy and Charging Rates

General Policy

1. The equipment in the Central Facilities of the Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP) is primarily to serve staff, students and researchers from PAP and NTU.

2. Priority will be given to users from PAP.

3. There are four categories of users:

a. College of Science (CoS): students and staff of CoS

b. NTU: students and staff of NTU but not from CoS

c. Non-NTU: users from academic institutions

d. Commercial: non-academic, e.g. industry

4. CoS users may apply for training to the contacts below.

5. All other users should request the assistance of facility staff for their registration and measurements. No independent operation is allowed, unless they become regular users.

* SPM/SEM/XRD minimum booking time slot is one hour.

XPS minimum usage slot is half day (4 hours).

** Non PAP users are required to pay training fee of $100 per instrument.

Cancellation

Cancellation of booking is allowed at least one hour in advance for SPM/SEM/XRD/HR-XRDs, and at least 3 days in advance for cryogenic facilities PPMS/MPMS respectively; in case of no show, the user will be charged 100% of the fee.
