Center for Neurobehavioral Development

RESEARCH PROTOCOL APPLICATION

Applications for conducting research projects in the Center for Neurobehavioral Development (CNBD) must be approved by the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) prior to the initiation of the project. Only completed applications will be considered for review. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and decision will be conveyed to the principal investigator typically within 3-4 weeks.

The application will be reviewed for scientific content of the project, applicability to the mission of the Center, feasibility, ethical concerns and the requirement of Center facilities and resources. Priority will be given to collaborative projects that focus on neurodevelopment and have extramural funding. The project will be approved for 2 years and requests for additional years will be considered based on the merits of the study and interim progress. In addition, space and resource allocation may be reviewed periodically.

It is expected that any publications that result in research conducted in the CNBD acknowledge the CNBD as a contributor to the research. The SAC must be informed of any changes to protocols, and IRB continuing review approvals must be forwarded to SAC. A final report must be submitted to the SAC no later than 90 days following the completion of the project.

The application should be sent electronically to Neely Miller at:
