Title: HEALING

Scripture Text: Exodus 15:26

INTRODUCTION

Healing is my portion, because that’s what the word of God says about me! When God gives us promises, there are conditions attached to them. He gives us the right to choose. In the main text we see this “….if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight…I will put none of the diseases on you…” Nothing should stop us from being healed; however, unbelief often stops us from being healed. We will examine the following scriptures to get a greater insight of what God has promised us in the area of healing.

Points of Discussion

·  Matthew 12:15 - Healing is applicable both in the old and new testaments – “….He healed them all”.

·  Hebrews 10:7 - The will of Jesus is the will of the Father. For this purpose Jesus came - salvation and healing.

·  Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus does not change. What happened two thousand years ago still applies today. He healed then and He heals today.

·  Hebrews 2:17 - God’s mercy and faithfulness still translate to us today from the days when Jesus walked on the earth.

·  Matthew 10:7-8 - Jesus healed the sick - this healing is still available to us today.

·  Mark 16:17-18 - “…will lay hands…” as a believer, all these signs that happen in the past can happen today. Our unbelief prevents these things from happening to us today.

·  James 5:14-15 - Admit to God you are sick, call the elders, cell leader, or the pastor instead of throwing a pity party. The process is to confess our sins, pray and we will be healed.

·  Isaiah 54:4-5 - Sickness will not bring you shame - do not be afraid. The Lord of Israel is the God of the whole earth and He has dominion over the whole earth.

·  Isaiah 53 - Jesus was bruised for us. He already carried our sickness, therefore, we should not be carrying the sickness. We must appropriate this to our lives and believe we receive.

·  Matthew 8:17 - This is a confirmation of what Isaiah said thousands of years before.

·  Deuteronomy 28:15 - If we do not obey God’s word and His commandments, this causes sickness and diseases. The curse has been broken by Jesus, therefore we should not labour under the curse.

·  Other scriptures to meditate upon - Deut 28, Ps 103:3, Matt 7:17, John 14:14, Mark 11:24, Rom 8:11, Eph 5:23, 1 Cor 6:15, 19-20, Gal 5:1, Is 58:3, Acts 10:38.

CONCLUSION

We must be diligent to obey God’s word and know that our enemy is defeated. We are protected and blessed by God. People are afraid of you because of God’s hand upon your life. It is not God’s desire for us to suffer and be sick. We must not isolate ourselves and be alone, but call upon our elders or pastor to anoint and pray for us. Redemption and forgiveness go hand in hand as sin and sickness. God wants us to be healed and not to be in the same position as when we were lost. God is the ULTIMATE HEALER. Our job is to believe and to do what He has commanded. Jesus gave us the greatest commandment to love and this helps us to overcome all the sins and wickedness inherent in human beings. Let us believe and walk in God’s healing!
