11 / Play music or sound recordings on radio, CD players, via tv or computer, as part of the workplace by University staff (includes admin staff) / Staff
13 / Conduct remote classes via satellite in which music or sound recordings of music are played within the lesson/lecture / Staff / Must be for educational purposes and access restricted to students/staff of the University only
14 / Copy extracts from commercial sound recordings of music to demonstrate in multi-media courses / Staff or Students / Labelling requirements apply
16 / Make a recording (eg audio or video) of a University Event where music or sound recordings are played, for the purpose of University archives / Students or Staff / Provided that access is restricted to staff and students of the University
17 / Format shift material eg LPs converted into DVDs or CDs / Staff / Provided that it is to be used for educational purposes in relation to a course of study
18 / Play music or sound recordings via telephone ‘on hold’ systems at the University / Staff
20 / Perform music at a University event or as part of a course / Staff or Students / However, not where admission is charged
21 / Allow individuals to copy course material (for example 5) from the Institution’s intranet system to their local computer or other personal device such as an MP3 player or iPod / Staff or Students / Provided that it is to be used for educational purposes in relation to a course of study only, and access is restricted to staff/students of the institution.
